My wife and I had dinner here last Saturday night having been planning this dinner for a while! We have been to this restaurant a number of times and have had wonderful experiences! Unfortunately Saturday night was a disappointment Apparently this is under new management by the owner of Molinari's in Dorchester. We had a reservation and arrived 10 minutes early and we were promptly seated. Once seated our waiter arrived and asked if we wanted a drink. Ravello is a truly authentic and wonderful Italian restaurant that specializes in serving homemade pasta. The pasta is deliciously toothsome, rich in flavor, and incredibly fresh. Along with the pasta, the entire menu and drink selection are also excellent. During our recent visit, we enjoyed grilled peppers with focaccia and olive oil, as well as a bottle of chilled rose. The portion sizes were generous, including the bread, which is a nice touch. I had a perfectly cooked steak with their amazing pasta, while my husband loved his stuffed chicken breast. The food is really good and the atmosphere is really cute, but my overall experience this time left me annoyed and wishing I chose a different restaurant. First of all, I decided to go there, mainly because I thought that had pizzas on the menu and my child would like that. There used to be pizza on the menu and it says PIZZA on their awning. I thought maybe I missed it on the menu or maybe it was just a lunch item so I politely asked the waitress and she said we don 't have it with an attitude. I didn 't even bother mentioning that it says PIZZA right on the awning. The service was pretty bad. The waitress really seemed like she didn 't care much. A very delicious Italian spot with beautiful dish presentations and warm atmosphere. We ordered the arancini to start, then pappardelle bolognese and short rib ravioli. The arancini balls were perfectly filled and fried. The handmade pappardelle ribbons were wide in a savory meat sauce. The raviolis were absolutely phenomenal and my favorite also handmade, and stuffed with chianti braised short rib with a Marsala cream sauce and beautiful wild sautéed mushrooms. Wow. Loved it here!!! The place itself is super cute, and has really good energy. Sara was our waitress and she really made it such a great experience. She was so helpful, thoughtful and personable! I absolutely adore this restaurant! The first time we dined there, we were seated outside at the charming blue tables. However, when it started raining, the staff kindly and swiftly moved us inside to the cozy and adorable bar. The atmosphere, staff, and food were all fantastic. The arancini and drinks were absolutely delicious.
