This is my favourite after work sandwich spot. I always get a pesto wrap with chipmayo and ranch, roasted chicken, havarti cheese, sprouts, onions, and olives, grilled. It's perfection. Some of the staff is really friendly and chatty, other staff members are quite standoffish. The market part is fantastic, I really love the "farmer's market" vibe, and the meat section is wonderful. Highly recommend.
Red Barn market is in several locations around Victoria but recently I visited the location in Mattick's Farm and had a wonderful visit worth mentioning. Red Barn specializes in local foods but also has a wonderful selection of unique items and fresh food items. It is a great place to get a snack while visiting the Cordova Bay Area. It truly adds to a visit in the area.
I wept with joy when the Oak Bay location opened as I used to drive all the way out to Matticks Farm (fromDowntown) once a week to get my groceries! Their food is consistent. The prices of produce is by far the cheapest in town. Chili lime hummus is fantastic and their Black Forest ham is delicious.
We bought a ham from RBM for our Christmas dinner and it was amazing. This is not the first ham that we bought from them. Each one has been nothing short of spectacular. We stopped here at 10:00 to get something for lunch and people were already buying sandwiches. My wife and I shared one sandwhich which was delicious and plenty for us. Fruit and vegetables were a good price.
Dropped by to pick up a couple of sandwiches fro the Ferry ride. Good selection of breads, meats, cheeses, drinks. Service was a tad slow so give yourself some time if you are catching a ferry.
We really enjoyed our sandwiches from here... they have quality ingredients and they can build it however you want. It was reasonably priced. I love the online ordering and app!

Although the Vanalman location is the smallest (I believe), it remains my favourite! Try their pesto chicken sandwiches - beyond delicious!
