Red Lion Leytonstone

Not a child friendly pub. The website advertises a full children's menu but it doesn’t actually have one. We brought my two year old there for his birthday and there was no kids food nor would the supervisor ask the kitchen to make anything child size or friendly. The very limited menu only had fried food on it and it was not very nice at all. I was genuinely surprised at how unhelpful the supervisor was blaming management for not changing the website but did nothing to accommodate for the children. Bar staff are nice but other than that no reason to go back given the bad service, greasy food and long wait for everything, including a plate of oily hummus.

I have been a resident of Leytonstone for a decade, and the Red Lion Pub used to be a vibrant, cozy, and forward-thinking establishment. Unfortunately, as many have observed, not only has the quality of the food declined, but the service and overall sense of hospitality have diminished as well. Despite giving it another chance today, it has not shown any improvement, and as many others will agree, you can have a much more enjoyable experience at one of the nearby pubs. I really do not wish for this pub to lose its charm, and I sincerely hope that you find your vigor again and return to being the welcoming local spot in Leytonstone that you once were.

When voicing a concern regarding creepy and unsafe behaviour from a fellow patron in front of and towards other members of the public, particularly vulnerable women, rather than removing the offending, potentially dangerous individual, the pub security just told us to move tables if we were uncomfortable. This is disgusting. You shouldn’t be waiting until assault has happened to remove the perpetrator. If the comfort of a perverted regular is More important than the safety of women, you should be shut down.

Was suppose to be staying here for a weekend in July for one night, booked a couple of months ago on booking.com however got a message to say they are renovating the rooms and they have to cancel our booking with less than two weeks notice. Unfair and poor communication still not had a reply back and no more information given regarding payment very poor service! Now have had to rebook another hotel for triple the price due to it being last minute : Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

The Red Lion is a great spot for a delicious Sunday lunch. With lots of space in their airy, large room it's a fun place to meet and mingle. For Sunday lunch they offer a range of meats and vegetarian options, all served with all the trimmings. Come hungry, because portions are generous. The wine list is solid, and the range of excellent ales and craft beers adds even more to a visit. Well worth a stop when you're in the Leyton/Leytonstone area.

My favourite pub in London, so lucky to be able to call this my local. Their beer list is absolutely incredible, one of the biggest selections I've seen. The space is amazing and their Sunday Roast is simply legendary. Save some space for pudding!

We had roast dinners beautifully cooked and lots of meat. I had lovely lean succulent pork and my friend had beef. Really good friendly service and a great atmosphere. The red lion never disappoints!
