We had just arrived in Australia and our relatives took us here for lunch because they thought it was a great place. Unfortunately, that day they had a couple of singers and the music was SO loud that we could not hold a conversation. The setting would have been perfect otherwise. The main course was expensive but I thought that would be okay as I was so excited that they had pavlova on the dessert menu. Well, not so. I went to eat my pavlova and the fork would not even go into the meringue. I had to use a knife to try and cut it and tear it apart but when I tried to eat it, it was like very old chewing gum. It was impossible to eat it!! So we sent it back, then they asked me if they could ma...

Pork belly was so overcooked and chewy , it was difficult to swallow . The fat just could not be cut with the knife . The crackling nearly cracked the teeth . At that price we could not stop wondering how they could bring out such a bad plate of food - one could look at it and tell it's horribly overcooked . The vegetarian moussaka was almost raw potatoes , cold slices of zucchini, undercooked eggplant , all thrown on a plate with tomato sauce and 3 small pieces of feta cheese on top , priced 25$. Never seen or eaten moussaka like this before . Tasteless and horrible . The waitress was very nice , she took the plate of moussaka and brought another one . Alas that one was worse than the first...

Looked for a nice place for lunch and found this little gem. They have beer and wine tasting as well as lunch and a gallery, you can also stay here overnight if you want. We had the muscles for lunch and there were enough for both of us. The service was great as well. You have a choice of 2 paddles if you want to try the beer, one paddle is vale ale at $10 and fox hat at $15. You can eat lunch on the lawn under umbrellas or on the porch, there's heaters on the porch but a open fire on the grass area. It's also accessible for people in wheelchairs. Will definitely come back.

Invited down from the city we arrived reluctantly to a large family gathering. We went as a family of 5 to join the table of 17 set up near the fire which was a gorgeous touch amidst the trees and outside on the lawns and gardens. We had heard nothing on the place at all so were delighted at the magical Sunday arvo atmosphere which was enhanced by the mellow live music, wonderful food and good service provided by a team of country hearted staff who got the job done whilst or littlies ran amuck out in the paddocks nearby. From the moment we arrived we were well looked after and had great table service for the the entirety of our meal. we started off with sharing crumbed olives, garlic bread , and portobello mushrooms, Mushrooms were a huge hit out of the three others we lovely as well.Out of a table of 14 we all loved our main courses from gnocchi to sirloin to pork belly and the young children we had with us were well looked after too.Couldn't rave about Red Poles enough ,will be back

Started with beer paddles crumbed olives and croquettes , yum , good beer food .taking the waiters recommendation we had a tasty braised lamb ( nice mash potato) and also their best seller the pork belly !! WOW a bit of food envy from the others that are coming back to have the pork . The lady folk enjoyed their desserts while we boys had another paddle of beers

Enjoyed the pork belly and steak for lunch. Friendly service and a good selection of local wines. Can also taste 'brick kiln' wines here which is a small local winemaker in McLaren Vale. A nice setting and plenty of parking. Suggest attend during the weekdays when it isn't so busy.

Our second visit here this year. The food once again was fantastic. The solo musician adds to the already glorious atmosphere. The service is perfect, authentic and not overbearing. Definitely recommend this place as a Sunday chill out with good food. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
