So my husband and I drive up about once a week for our Sunday brunch about an hours both ways for some of the best food on the island. The past few visits have been concerning. This was one of the last restaurants that were consistent with really good food where as of late they have completely dropped the ball. We both ordered the loaded omelette and my husbanded had a bowl of soup for starts, he said the noodles in the sound were just disintegrating and the sound flavour was "ok" ; but not what were used to having for the red rooster. Friends indicated this location had improved so we gave it another try. We visited for breakfast and I’m pleased we did. It was busy but we were greeted and seated immediately by a friendly staff member. My wife and I were both satisfied with our...breakfasts. I had the Eggs Benny and it was good. We had a choice of shredded or fried hash browns, I found the shredded ones a “little gooey”. There were two servers and they both covered all of the tables, so the service was excellent. Overall impression was a C+, a big improvement since last visit.
My wife and ate there a couple nights back. To be fair we arrived just before they locked the doors (6:55 pm ). The place was full but we were able to get a table. We decided to each get a special to speed up the process. I had a pork chop dinner. The veggies ( cauliflower, broccoli and carrots ) were cooked perfectly. The meal was good but a little bland for my taste. My wife had a taco salad which she enjoyed. Most meals seemed to be priced between $10 & $14.
We have stopped here for breakfast a few times and are very impressed with the service and the food. Coffee is decent, fresh and plentiful. Pancakes exceptional, omelets and eggs Bennys are very popular and the serve jam that they make right there. There is...no scrimping although waffle servings seem a bit less than other items. The waitresses are impressive! Prices are better than most considering what you get for your money.
The food is always excellent, plentiful, not expensive and comes fast. The staff is the friendliest, and they are not opposed to accommodating requests. Lots to choose from, and a clean comfortable setting.
The service was ok, but the food was disgusting. Our fries were overdone and greasy and our chicken burgers was luke warm. The pie was less than appetizing. Would not go back. Third time still unlucky.
great eating and personal, a real surprise for a gas station dinner, reasonable prices, huge portions and really delicious, make it a stop on the way up or down the island.

this caffe is a great place to go with family or friends. eating is delicious and the staff is friendly. they give themselves a little time as it is often busy.
