We arrived at Refuge Napoleon at 12:45. The inside was empty. The terrace was full. We were warned that we would have to wait half an hour for lunch. We decided to get freshened up first and booked a table for 2 o'clock. When we...got back at two, we were told that it had to be checked with the kitchen if we could still get something to eat. We ordered the menu of the day, a steak with homemade fried and bearnaise sauce. The homemade fries where burnt black on the outside and raw on the inside. The sauce was cold and strait from a jar. Also we didn't get water nor bread unlike all other tables did receive. The desserts were a lot better then the main course. All in all a rather big disappoin...
“Storybook Mountain Drive” with dear friend Elisa and new friend Andrea, who chauffeuered us in his beautifully preserved 1963 Reault up, up, up from Cesana/SanSicario to this gem of a roadside restaurant/gathering spot. The weather on this Saturday was spectacular, and hundreds of bikers and...hikers were certainly taking advantage of the climate and climb. Staff were friendly and most entertaining, especially with the chalkboard menu presentation. Food and beverage were fortifying and refreshing. Simply a delight to go along with an unforgettable journey in Andrea’s “baby.” Merci, All!
we have booked a table in this popular restaurant at the top of the col by vars. we went from vars on one of the winter routes. behind the restaurant is a large accommodation building. the food was quite good and the service friendly....We continued the walk afterwards, although the trails were less easy to follow. there is a free bus back to the city.
I really liked this place because it is very unique. in the middle of nowhere. small restaurant serving local cuisine. Eating is good, but nothing really special. friendly staff. the location is very quiet and quiet. I would recommend this place to see the...view and have this experience.

easy-running mountain hotel, in a beautiful opposite close to the col de vars. the room was nice and clean, the breakfast was ok. perfect for a stop when they walk in the French alps with the bike or motorcycle!
After a more or less hard cycle climb from Briancon this is a very good place to have something to eat or just a beer. Lot of bikers and road cyclist here. Nice view to. Very friendly staff.
through the walk to the col de vars it was nice to take a short break here. atmosphere of old times and history, with beautiful view. see was still frozen, but can also be spectacular!
bucolic after a good hike the service a little long for the choice of dishes there are for all tastes and all the scholarships young waiter is friendly

the menu at 19.50 € is very correct, dessert dish in a beautiful setting with lake view; meat choice, salad. nothing to say, to do again.
nothing to say, everything was perfect from beginning to end with the fact home from a to z!I even forgot my jacket at the coat door!!!
