Text: Disappointed with this restaurant which I’ve used over 8 times in 18 months. I drove from Crawley and booked ahead of time for my 66th birthday lunch a table for 4 at 1.30pm with my wife and two teenage kids aged 16&18. The price is reasonable when the quality is good the bill came to £185.00 including £20 service charge automatically added to the bill. Overview: The service was okay as usual quick but not friendly we were served by 5 different people. However what was horrible and shocking was that the food quality has dropped significantly since my last visit in September 2023. I want to thank the amazing staff at The Regency for their exceptional care. Yesterday, our caregiver took my 83-year-old mother out for a walk when she suddenly needed to use the restroom and felt dizzy. They stopped at The Regency where they were warmly welcomed. The staff not only allowed my mom to use the restroom but also offered her water and a seat. My mom, who has Alzheimer's and struggles with stress and anxiety, said that they made her feel comfortable and were incredibly kind. Thank you for taking such good care of my mother!
Such a shame as we were there for a birthday celebration- food was pretty good but the staff couldn’t have made it clearer that we were inconveniencing them. At 9pm they turned off the music all hovered near us making it abundantly clear they wanted to finish up… One actually raised his arms yawned… I know it was a Monday night but seriously! If you’re after good customer service, I’d probably give it a miss….
First class. Excellent ambience, faintly reminiscent of Sweetings the famous City fish restaurant which is perhaps a coincidence since the building was previously owned, albeit 2 centuries ago, by the Coutts dynasty. The food was spot on, the wine great value and the service perfect. The manager walked the floor, always a good sign, I think. Great value. Thank you.

Group of 8 turned up ad hoc and warmly greeted. Lovely decor/ambience and super service. Varied mains and desserts and all plate's emptied. Fish not my go to choice, had the mixed fish, plenty on the plate, calamari was a bit disappointing. Ohers had the skate and were happy. Would suggest the food was only, above average, but would happily return.
It was alright. I had been wanting to go to this restaurant for years and finally made it there for lunch this week. The food was lacking in flavor and the apple pie tasted like it was microwaved and made with canned apples. Overall, it was an okay experience and nothing to complain about, but not something I would rush back for.
I visited this restaurant a couple of times during my recent trip to Brighton. It's a fantastic place with lots of menu options, a great atmosphere, speedy service, and delicious food. The staff were all friendly and welcoming.
