We were given incorrect menus by the staff. We ordered items that were on our menu, but other items were delivered to our table. We ordered fish and were given lamb. The lamb was not great very chewy and one piece was mostly not edible. Though we are English speaking with limited French, we showed the items on the printed menu when ordering. No one checked with us about the change and no one even apologized for the lack of communication with our service. We were told they were out of the wine we ordered. Unfortunately we found the food to be very bland lacking seasoning taste and texture. When I ordered the cheese plate for dessert it came without bread or crackers so while my partner ate his dessert I waited patiently and when no accompaniment arrived I started to eat my cheese on its own. We eventually asked for something to eat the cheese with and what we received was huge chunks of bread that overpowered the taste of the cheese so in the end it was best to eat it without…
We had the 55 euros tasting menu and found it a disappointment. It was unappetising. The bread was rock hard and inedible which was acknowledged by the staff. A strange mix of flavours and lacked texture. Radishes or turnips featured in three of the courses. The dessert was appalling. Supermarket bread filled with a jam like substance and served with a tiny strawberry.
We opted for the 4 course menu and really enjoyed the fresh food which was well presented and explained by the friendly staff there. Not rushed at all with a good selection of wines too.
