We stumbled on this place during the day and returned for our evening meal.They were offering the weekly special which was a starter / main and dessert for just €16.00. There was a choice of two so he had one and I had the other.Starters Goats cheese or TerrineMains Cod Fillet or PorkDeserts ... YummyEach dish was beautifully presented and had such a variety of new tastes.Service was excellent and his lack of English and my lack of French led to a lot of pointing and many smiles .... we were also served croutons with dips at the start and a little biscuit to end. Our initial venture into French fare was more than expected. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
My previous experiences of beach restaurants in and around Royan have been underwhelming, to say the least. This, therefore, turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. The view is straight out onto the vast expanse of the beach. The décor has a 1930's feel to it. The staff are excellent and the service slick. Refreshingly the wine list is very simple but most effective. There are a number of very reasonably priced wines. The food is imaginatively cooked and interesting in it's food combinations. The portions are generous. All in all a jolly good lunch.Would I go again? Most certainly.
A great discovery! From aperitif to dessert, the service is pleasant and attentive. A lot of pleasure in the mouth, the flavors that mix without opposing. We enjoyed the suggestion: the pork coast was very tender and delicious. We will return with pleasure.
