Located in a small street in the city centre, Essential is an excellent address for those who want to discover a very fine cuisine at a very affordable price. From the entrance to the dessert, one discovers a reduced card, with carefully designed aesthetic dishes, and a taste... to fall! Special mention for poultry suprem, whose sauce and accompaniment were excellent. Congratulations. For the quantity, do not be afraid, you will not come out with the end! And that's really appreciable. The service and the reception are without reproach!
If the dishes were excellent, we had to wait 45 minutes between the entrances and the dishes. The server's explanations were confusing and not convinced us. Either saying we were 5th for the preparation of tables of 4 people.. observing the room I did not see as many tables of 4 people. Of course we are going to the restaurant to have a good time but 3 hours at the table is a lot. A small gesture like offering coffee would have been appreciable. It's too bad
A la lecture des excellents avis lus , nous avons vraiment été déçus par notre déjeuner…Après une heure d’attente toujours pas d’amuse- bouche, de carte de vins..,Nous avons renoncé et demandé un verre de bin( Bandol fort agréable) l’entrée était réussie, après encore 30 minutes d’attente..,, le cabillaud bon mais un peu sec…. Les desserts choisis n’étaient plus disponibles… Serveuse charmante mais complètement dépassée ..
Received rec from our driver guide. Local and knowledgeable. He was right on all day. Ok here’s my evaluation. Quiet place. Decor more modern-ish. Waitress super nice and helpful either in English or French. Had limited menu. prefixe’s with some choices within. Meals good+.......however my duck was undercooked by my standard and very tough. They were very willing to take it back to cook a bit more. Wine list great.

Ordered the set menu lunch (entree, main, dessert and glass of wine for euro p.p). Excellent meal and service. Would recommend for a bit more of a up market lunch dinner. Did notice a lack of custom we walked passed it daily...during our day visit) which may be price sensitivity. A shame as it is a cut above the other eateries we tried.
A pure moment of happiness and relaxation. If you need to relax in a quiet zen atmosphere then you are in the right place. We took a brunch and it was a pleasure both for the eyes and for the taste buds. The massage duo a pure wonder finally you are on a cloud.
There are restaurants that do not have stars but should get one, the restaurant L’Essentiel is part of it. Refinement and research of excellence are its best qualifiers.
