Very dissapointed by this place. The food was so nice to begin with when it first opened but on my last visit, I was overcharged. I didn't notice until I'd got home. Fair enough as mistakes do happen but on calling them up and telling them, They checked and said I could have the money off the next time I came in from the bill. Not the best customer service reply one could get and it was as if at their end, it wasn't a problem and a small issue. So I decided to go back a few days later for another order and sure enough, they made the deduction. No apology, just a simple adjustment of cash. Disaster! Ordered a takeaway and was asked if they could call back with the total. No call came so rang back to chase. Food had not arrived after an hour so called again and was told that I should have been informed there was over an hour wait (which I wasn’t). Still no food after 1 and a half hours so rang again to be told the driver was at the top of the road. 20 minutes later still no food! Rang again just as driver came nearly 2 hours after placing the order. Took the order and went inside. It was not my order at all! It was also stone cold. We were so hungry we couldn’t go through the pain of ringing again and potentially waiting another hour for the right food so we reheated it and ate...
I was the first person to write a review for these back in 2014 and I can easily say they are still my number one curry place. I will not ever go to another Indian take away. The food always tastes excellent, the portions are big and delivery is quick. I am a huge prawn fan and usually when ordering a prawn curry from most places, the Tiny little tasteless prawns are used, however with riverside you do not have to order a king prawn dish to get good prawns! I have to also add that we love the delivery man, he is always so polite and is a big fan of our little dog Joey Who he always says hello to. I’ve recommended these to my parents who also love this place and order regularly.
I have dined at this restaurant multiple times during my visits to the area, and while the cuisine may not be unique to a specific region in South Asia, it is a delicious representation overall. The staff is friendly and the restaurant tends to have a pleasant crowd. Personally, I usually stick to classic Indian dishes like Tikka Masala, Vindaloo, Butter Chicken, and Biryani, but you will not be disappointed with any choice. We ordered a takeaway the other night, my first time with the River Spice, and I have to say that I was impressed. The order was delivered promptly, we tucked in almost immediately, it was hot and very enjoyable. The only downside for me personally, is that I don’t live in the delivery area, so I have 2x options either ho and collect myself or invite myself back to my friends house. My mixed grill was great
Hard to believe it is the same place. From experiencing some of the best ever Indian food I have ever tasted at this takeaway venue, to experiencing probably the worst. I have no idea what has happened. Some Indian restaurants during busy periods 'outsource ' their takeaways. I hope this is not what is happening as it is letting down what was a lovely place.
Great service from the staff assisting me with exactly what I wanted over the phone. Friendly delivery driver. Food was very flavoursome, tasty fresh! The temperature could have been hotter but apart from that very impressed and will order again!

Being Indian and brought up on curry it's hard to find something that meets my mum's high standards. This does!! Absolutely will be my go to! Ordered and delivered within 30 minutes
