This place used to be a bery popular tourist destination, nestled among the beautiful vineyards, great service, excellent food. Recently tge ownership has changed and there is a big decline in service. We went there for breakfast with some friends, our order took forever to arrive. There was only one server on duty, his English needs a bit more practice but obviously they needed more servers on the floor. After we finished our breakfast we had to remind him to take our dirty dishes away. The food was good, price is okay.
We stayed at the Riverbend Inn for a couple of days not only were we impressed with our room but the dining room was fantastic!! Our meals did not disappoint !! Breakfast was really good served with great service. We had decided on our first night to have dinner at the Inn then the next evening (my bday) dinner we would go out, but after an outstanding meal and great presentation we decided to stay the second night and have our dinner there again!! Superb food, presentation and great service!! Bravo
My friend and I ended up here for dinner after doing a wine tour and given a prix fix menu as part of our package. I was a little surprised that it didn't include as least tasting any of their wines after a day of wine tasting. Not a lot of choice, but I enjoyed my meal, my friend felt the prix fix was too restrictive and didn't leave much for something with a couple of food preferences.
We did a 100km bike ride to riverbend. While the hotel is quant and nice the restaurant was a big disappointment. The food was ok but mismatched with the price point. Service was terrible. The staff were nice but blatantly untrained and mismanaged. The view of the vineyards was nice but I wouldn't go back. Lots of better places at NOTL.
We arrived for lunch at this restaurant and enjoyed a quiet ten minutes looking out at vineyards before a tourist bus arrived. Swarms of tourists took over a small space.It became noisy and suddenly devoid of any charm, conversation, and enjoyment. Wish we had known it was a tour bus destination and will not take a chance on returning.
It is rather pricey. The selection on the breakfast menu is very sparse, lots of bennies but little else to choose from. No cereals or porridge/oatmeal. But did have gluten free bread which was good. The dinner menu is overpriced in view of the rather simple nature of the meals
Riverbend used to be one of my favourite places too eat. Over the past 2-3 years we noticed the service and food declining. Still a very nice atmosphere and patio to dine on. Food has been very average and nothing worth going back for.
From the moment you pull up, you know you are in a special place! The patio on the vineyard is beautiful! The food was very good, but portions are modest? Great service!
Great service and excellent food...ambience is top of the line and the staff are so accommodating. The views of the vineyards are unique!!! Go Visit!!
