Not sure why there was reviews about a grumpy landlord, he welcomed us in and was very cheerful! We looked at a menu that was on the bar whilst waiting for our drinks. Landlord stated that food was served at 6pm (we arrived at 5.30) so didn’t mind sampling a few ales beforehand. Great choice of ales, well kept! I had the whitebait starter and my partner had prawn cocktail. Very delicious! We both had the rump steak, was very well cooked and nicely seasoned! Chips were yummy as well! Prices are fantastic! Waitress was attentive and polite! We didn’t have a dessert as were both full! Will definitely return when visiting the area again, which hopefully will be soon
What a wonderful find whilst on a mini break in the Malverns. We turned up on Thursday lunchtime without booking. The service was incredible, Super speedy without feeling rushed, the food was piping hot and very generous, the whole table left feeling full. There looks to be fab outdoor seating with a play area, such a shame the rain was pouring down so our children couldn’t enjoy it. 100% recommend.
The landlord mocked me for being a vegetarian. Two of us ladies at the bar vs a cocky landlord with no manners. He spoke down to us like children whilst laughing and commenting that he has so many things he wishes he could say to us but probably shouldn't. Safe to say we decided NOT to eat here.
Dropped in for evening meal. Very friendly welcome. Lovely food (steak meal, fish pie, 2 ploughman’s). Choice of eating areas including outdoor but too wet this evening). Gorgeous friendly extremely well behaved dog Murphy Super friendly service Highly recommend to all visitors to the area.

Enjoyed well cooked food at lunchtime . Even though we were later than the time we booked we were welcomed and shown great hospitality. Sitting in the main light and airy room the whole atmosphere was great . It was good value for money and will definitely return in the future . Thank you
We went for Sunday lunch for 6. There are Sunday roasts, specials and the normal menu all available. We did book to ensure an inside seat. Everyone enjoyed their food, we were all served at the same time, and it was good value.
Came here with my family for lunch ordered large fish and chips it definitely wasn’t large judging by some of the photos on here, and £3.50 for a 39p lidls garlic baguette? Cider was nice but food was too expensive
Had a lovely “Pub Grub” lunch here today. Good fresh and tasty. Good value. Excellent service by friendly staff and pup! All in an olde beamed pub. Even the Loos were clean and tidy. Would recommend Thank you

Visited the area for the week, lovely nearby pub for an afternoon drink or two in the garden and great food at dinner time. Friendly staff, good service and a lovely pub dog!
Good food and great staff. The bar can be a bit noisy with locals. They welcome dogs in the bar and have a good menu and a large garden, with a dog free restaurant.
