Haven’t been to Romano’s for quite a while, when there was different management, chef and waiting staff. It’s such a shame how the service and food has changed, and not for the better. The starters came out separately, so i had finished before my husbands...starter appeared. The plates weren’t cleared before our mains came out, and we had to take some of the starter and put onto the main plate whilst we juggled the empty and new plates. My meal was from the specials board, snapper with potatoes and green beans, the green beans were replaced with a small tasteless side salad, and no explanation or apology why. The beer was warm, no wonder as I watched the bottles being brought from the front...
Saturday night dinner and jazz seemed like the making of a good night out and overall it wasn’t too shabby. Jodi Berry more than fulfilled the jazz part of the evening with beautifully sung classics. If she is on somewhere you’re thinking of going then...go. The view over inner harbour and mariners island is pleasant and if the weather is warm enough there is outside seating as well. Would be very pleasant. The mixed part of the experience was the service. As I ordered the only entree I was asked if I was happy for it to come with my mains. It’s such a shame to see how this business has gone from greatness to clearly a business on the decline. We are local and we have tried to support this business from day one, and we still will, however it’s in trouble and needs to...take stock of these reviews and change quickly. Our food was poor, service was dreadful and it’s quite sad to see that the business is just trying to promote and attract bottomless drinking clientele rather than a clientele who appreciates excellent food, service and quality. This restaurant is a step above the rest. It offers more than just a cafe experience, with prices that are lower than fine dining. It is exactly what our area was lacking. They serve unique coffee from Italy and have a carefully curated menu. The staff is friendly and the ambience by the water adds to the overall experience. This is the best cafe in the area between Mornington and Mordialloc.

Italian cuisine, Australian cuisine. The fettucine carbonara was a good serve, quite tasty, served with fresh parmasen cheese. Staff were pleasant and attentive. Prices were pub prices. Atmosphere was a cafe type situation. Views looked out onto the harbour at Patterson Lakes. Outside seating as...well as indoor.
Such an awesome little cafe! The food was excellent and the atmosphere is always relaxing. The last time we were there we even saw a seal playing in the harbour! They also have an array of entertainment on throughout the week and weekend.
Great little place. The staff are friendly, drinks are at reasonable prices and the view is beautiful. The live music on a Sunday afternoon was very good, with a lovely singer and the volume was just right.
Coffee was good food delicious just took a little long ordered a second coffee while waiting for food. Staff very friendly nice atmosphere. Sit outside if it’s warm enough lovely view overlooking the water.
