First lunch at the local Thai restaurant. A warm welcome and presented with the lunch specials menu. The full evening menu was also available. Laksa $15) and a fried rice were chosen from the lunch menu and tamarind duck with tamarind sauce and crispy ginger $25.90) from the main menu. Overall, the food was reasonably average with nothing standing out as interesting or creative. There was little attempt at a more modern, innovative approach to flavour or presentation. Given the dinner pricing, and some competition in the area, a little more effort would not go astray. There was no content in the soap dispenser in the toilet.
I was part of a group of 20 people having dinner at Rose Niyom to celebrate a birthday. I have nothing but praise for the restaurant. Absolutely delicious food. (My mouth waters thinking about it). The food service and drinks regime ran smoothly. Staff were efficient, gentle mannered, and non intrusive. Nothing was too much trouble. We all agreed Rose Niyom was now on our list of Must Do Again.
The restaurant was decent but nothing amazing. The food was good, but it could have been improved. The service was disappointing, especially considering there were not many people there on a Sunday night. The prices were not impressive either. It was odd that they took away the chopsticks when we asked for them. Sorry, but I would only give it 3.5 stars if that were an option.
We arrived just before the lunch special ended at 3 pm. My wife ordered the parang curry and absolutely enjoyed it. I had the pad see ew, which was cooked perfectly with crunchy vegetables and a tasty, not greasy sauce. The atmosphere was pleasant. We definitely plan to return and would happily order the same dishes again because they were delicious.
