Family catch-up lunch planned for a central point between Seaford and Mt Glascow was Footscray. Not being familiar with the western suburbs of Melbourne, we took the advice of friends to go to Roti Road, as they had been and discovered wonderful food right in the heart of Footscray. Plenty of 2 hour parking around the area but you need to park a block or so away so be prepared for that in your planning. Excellent Malaysian and Chinese menu with Yum Cha available every day until 3pm. We were greeted very warmly and seated very comfortably with good solid large tables. We found ourselves in Footscray with no idea where to go for dinnerso we asked the first young couple we saw to recommend a good BYO restaurant and they both pointed to 'Roti Rd' in unison ( the bottle shop was just across the road)Although it was Monday night the place was packed!The menu was extremely extensive and varied. The good they served was great and very reasonably priced and the service was excellent. So yes, I highly recommend this place and we'll be back when next in Footscray.
We ordered take away food from here as we wanted to eat back at our apartment and watch a movie at the same time during our weekend road trip.After placing our dinner order, it took around 20 mins for them to prepare our food in this rather warm restaurant. The food was good value, decent portion and quite tasty. Wouldn't go as far as saying it's the best Malaysian food we had though, but definitely above average.We will return here again one day.
We travelled out to Roti Road on a recommendation and it certainly lived up to the call big time ! We arrived really hungry and had menus and drinks in minutes. We started with roti and satay sauce which was amazing. Then salt and pepper chicken ribs, prawn dumplings, pan fried vegetarian dumplings,curry puffs, and satay chicken - all really delicious. Cannot recommend enough. This restaurant has a lovely atmosphere. We had the roti with a chicken curry and a beef curry. They were both beautifully cooked,the meat just falling apart. Honestly think the beef curry was one of the best curries I have ever had, and very reasonably priced too. Definitely the best meal out We have had in Melbourne.
The roti was really good so apt for the name. Had it with a rendang beef sauce, excellent. The other dishes were good. Unfortunately the salt and pepper tofu had hardly any pepper and the batter was too thick and crispy. Quick turnaround of food. It was really busy when we went , so may pay to book.
Ordered a number of dishes with a few friends - The roti entree and dessert were both delicious. Service needs improvement though - unorganized and food took quite some time. Manager not very helpful after 2 people's desserts delayed for 35 minutes.
Lovely food, really delicious and attentive and accommodating staff. Of the multiple choices open to you in Footscray - this is a stand out. Very cheap as well which belies the quality of the food. Top nosh.

I have been to Roti Road a few times now and every time it gets even better. Probably the most authentic Malaysian I have had and I have lived in Malaysia. Great service and delicious food.
We visited on a Saturday evening on way from a Melbourne visit. Rare night without our bland-food-liking kids. Looked inviting on Barkly
