Rotisserie St-Hubert

My husband and I stopped here for lunch on our way to Quebec City. We were seated quickly in the outdoor seating area which was very nice. I'm giving this review a 2/5 because the restaurant is beautiful. Very modern and clean. That's pretty much the only positive thing I have to say about it. Our server came over quick enough and we ordered off the lunch menu. You get your choice out of about 8 entrees. It includes a drink, plus either soup to start or a dessert. Stopped here on our way through Quebec on route to New Brunswick . Nothing makes me more aggravated then when locals treat travellers with less attention than their other tables . When we were seated the hostess gave us one menu, when the waitress came to the table she seemed annoyed that we asked for a second menu. when she delivered drinks to the other tables she gave them straws . Asked a different male waiter for some straws and then he never returned . The meal was very poor. The ceasar salad was over dressed and the lettuce was old. No real surprise. Offers very reliably good chicken roasted. They now offer a few variations of roasted chicken. My partner had their chicken with piri-piri sauce. Great fries. Just the right crispness outside, and tender inside. I had their chicken noodle soup and Cesar Salad. I love their soup. The broth is so rich with chicken flavour and the noodles are tender and lovely for slurping (should you choose to, just like when you were a kid). They have updated their decor and offer outdoor seating at this location. Had dinner here on Sunday 25-9-16; very nice modern restaurant conveniently located across street from our Hotel Bernières; seated immediately & our drink order taken; even though restaurant was very busy, our server Anne-Marie was attentive, pleasant & did not rush us; we both ordered combo meal including choice of appetizer, main & dessert & coffee/tea; great wings & cheese sticks as starters, generous 1/4 chicken breast meals & amazing Chomeur cake & sugar pie desserts! While visiting Quebec we decided to pick up a family pack of chicken for dinner. We got a whole chicken, 4 fries, 4 pieces of bread, 4 gravy and 4 coleslaws. It was a ton of food for $32. I placed the order online, and the food was hot and waiting for me when I arrived to pick it up. While the food tasted fine, coming from Ontario I cannot help but compare it to Swiss Chalet. Although St. Hubert's gives you more food, Swiss Chalet is much more flavourful (chicken, fries, bread and gravy). However it was a good meal for good value, that sure beats fast food any day. I would definitely recommend St. Hubert's.

We tried our best to speak French to order - the waitress we had - had absolutely no intentions on meeting us half way, she almost seemed to avoid us once the food was placed in front of us. The food was okay for the price. Decided not to go back when we made our return trip.

After a long car ride, this meal was delightful. Beautiful restaurant, delicious food, our server Marie-Pierre was lovely. Not inexpensive but worth it.

A must stop for a chicken meal when visiting Quebec, eastern Ontario, or New Brunswick. This restaurant is not everywhere but it should be.
