Went to pick up my brother from this pub as he was drinking and (obviously) couldn’t drive. The normal thing to do if you pick someone up is to wait in the customer carpark. Left at the time I was asked by my brother and waited 14 mins (we didn’t leave the vehicle) until my brother finished his drink. We got hit with a £60 and no remorse from the car parking companies appeal process. We also spoke to the pub and asked for their assistance in the matter but they claimed they weren’t able to do anything even though it’s their car park. I wouldn’t recommend going to this pub, who choose to team up with an unnecessary and questionable “civil enforcement company” (I’d recommend googling the compa...
Ignore bad reviews..... Visited this place on an off chance with friends. Brilliant little place with an extended beer garden and caribbean food... Amazing!!! Stayed for the entertainment which was a live band, Beautiful Sun trap with outside tvs and accessible carpark.... The staff did make us aware along with all of the signs in the carpark to put your registration plate in at the bar on the tablet as the carpark has cctv for permit holders only along with the road being permitted by the council. Highly recommend this place, very friendly staff and very clean. I will 100% be revisiting. Keep up the good work Royal Oak
Love, love, love this Pub, regularly visit on Friday and Saturday nights for their live bands including Repertoire Dogs (brilliant) The Smash, Jam 69, Back to the 80’s and many more, haven’t seen a bad band here they’ve all been great. Friendly and attentive bar staff, great drink prices, foods good too and a fantastic environment with people singing, dancing and having a great time. As for the people giving 0 rating because of the car park, there are signs everywhere advising to log on the screen inside and register your car and number plate (it takes 2 minutes) and would’ve saved you £100!
First DJ was great. Second seemed to be playing to himself read the room mate no one was dancing! Loads better music you could have been playing but instead, stood there entertaining yourself. Topped by a parking fine which tbh, guess I have no excuse that I didn't read the signs but a pub car park with permit holder parking? WTH why would I think I couldn't park in a pub that I was giving my business to, especially when there was no room on the road either. Well, I tried and won't bother again. We attended the Adele tribute and bottomless brunch at this restaurant. The staff were amazing and the performance was fantastic. It was great value for money and we had a blast dancing all night. We even stayed late to try the Filipino food, which was delicious. We will definitely be returning for more bottomless brunches and the entertaining drag queen bingo. This cozy pub offers great entertainment, delicious food, and friendly staff at an affordable price. It's a fun and cozy local spot that I'm lucky to live close to.
Walked down from our house with family for a Sunday Carvery. It's not often we go in even though it's on our street. However, totally worth it this afternoon! Great service, great price and deserts are free throughout February when you have the carvery. The beef was the only thing I can comment on, It wasn't the best cut I've had and was a little tough. The gammon was spot on. None the less, great grub in a nice family run pub and i am glad i parted with my money there today. Keep it up gang!
Don't use this pub Came on a very sad occasion, the wake of a friend. Saw the sigh saying sign in to car park and asked inside where to sign in and was told there was no need to sign in as it is a private lunchtime booking. Guess what, a £100 parking fine from ce services. Complain to pub that we were told no need to sign in but told that their staff would not have said that and it's nothing to do with them anyway. Won't be going there again and would strongly recommend that you don't.
I recently had a disappointing experience at a pub with their Sunday Roast. The food had no flavor and arrived cold. Even after sending it back, it still wasn't as hot as it should have been. The vegetables tasted frozen and the potatoes didn't resemble roasted at all. The beef was tough and the serviettes were damp. The service was poor and they didn't have any popular beer available. I rang the day before and asked to reserve a table for a gaggle of girls celebrating a birthday. The lovely young lady allowed us to pick our chosen table, and to dress the table up with decorations. We do come to themed evenings here and the staff are great. Once they start doing food I will be really happy!! Go online and check out their Soul/Jazz Funk evenings. They're brilliant. I can't walk the morning after!
