This restaurant has a nice warm comfortable ambience, with friendly staff that make you welcome and attend well to your needs. The range of fish and seafood is excellent and everything we tasted was absolutely delicious. We had the mussels with lemon grass, calamari fritti, the cod with soy, ginger, spring onions etc and a mixed salad. The wine list is comprised of not the usual suspects. The house chardonnay was really splendid with the fish and seafood. Meat lovers have the option of a schnitzel here, but fish and seafood is the emphasis. The cheese was beautifully aged and the desserts rather large, best to share unless you have a really sweet tooth. A fine place to dine for lunch or dinn...
We had been here under previous management and were keen to see if the high standards had been kept. No need to worry - the seafood was perfectly cooked and the desserts were sublime. Caesar's lemon prawns and garlic prawns for entrees, Blue-eye grilled with Asian sauces and panko crumbed golden snapper for mains, with a side of rocket, pear and Parmesan, and a chocolate and raspberry fondant and sticky date pudding. We used a Living Social discount voucher which halved the cost of the dinner. What more could you ask for?
LOVE RST! We still can't get enough of the awesome value for money and wonderful seafood that is on offer, freshest in Melbourne. The atmosphere and the staff are so welcoming it is a terrific venue for lunch, a hidden gem, remember access off Alexander Parade and Rae street. Love the staff. Will be returning again asap.Highly recommended. Have a meal here you will not be sorry.
had the private room for our party of 16 and ordered a fixed price banquet. the food was fresh and excellent and there were baptisms of it. one of the highlights was the service. a young man (timmy) looked around us and he made a wonderful job. it is an old building that almost needs in a castle of color. but that was very low, everyone said it was a very good experience. LOVE LOVE LOVE the RST! After 4 visits still can't get enough of the awesome value for money and wonderful seafood that is on offer. The seafood is so fresh, the atmosphere and the staff are so welcoming and it is a terrific venue for lunch, dinner or special occasion. Will be returning again asap.
