A couple of weeks ago on a Friday afternoon, my sister and I decided to stop by Rubio's Coastal Grill for a quick meal. She ordered Shrimp Tacos, and I went with a bean and cheese burrito with steak, plus a side of chips. We also decided to order a beer, so we were asked to sit inside the designated area, which we did. While waiting, we requested some salsa to go with our chips and burrito, especially since we had just paid $46 for what is essentially fast food from the menu. You know, food is not bad, like everywhere else seems to be getting less. But, the biggest thing is customer service, the girl you have up front, seriously, could she make it any more obvious she does not want to be there ? I mean, I have heard of resting B& %h face, but this is a whole other level. It's like what do you want- here is price-inside or out- heres number Watched her with other customers after us, facial expression never changed. I was extremely disappointed when I drove to the restaurant to pick up dinner for my family on Sunday (4/7) and arrived 12 minutes before closing, only to be told by the employees that they were not accepting any more customers. It was not yet 9pm, so I was puzzled as to why they were turning us away. I understand that they may have been slow, bored, and ready to close up, but we had made the effort to come specifically based on their posted and advertised hours. This lack of consideration for customer service was very frustrating.
There are a lot of vegan options at this restaurant that are made fresh to order. They offer quinoa cauliflower bowls, salads, burritos, and tacos, all available with Impossible or Grilled Veggies for protein. Some dishes may come with dressing or queso fresco, but they are easily removable upon request. Every dish I have tried here has been warm, fresh, and delicious. I typically prefer vegan restaurants, but there aren't many options where I live, so it's great to have this delicious option available.

My experience at Rubio's Coastal Grill was quite disappointing. The Original Fish Taco was lacking; it was difficult to find the fish in it. The service was also slow, with only one cook managing the kitchen. On a Saturday afternoon, the cleanliness left much to be desired given the minimal staff. Strangely, everything had a bitter taste, even the churros! The menu certainly didn't meet my expectations.
I have always enjoyed Rubio's, but the service has been very poor for some time now. It seems mostly to be understaffing. I feel sorry for some of the people working here, they are asked to do too much. Tonight was the final straw for me with Rubio's. I got a bacon shrimp burrito with only four tiny shrimp in it. I will not be coming back for a $12 burrito with for tiny shrimp.
I have a pneumonia. My appetite is just starting to come back; so, I felt a small cup of soup would be nice. I had my husband get some chicken tortilla soup here that turned out to be unfit for human consumption! It was absolutely terrible! I should've had him just crack open a can of Campbell's soup instead! That would've been a helluva lot better!
I recently had my first experience at Rubio's Coastal Grill, and overall, it was quite positive. The food is healthy and light, making it a great option for lunch. I really enjoyed the flavors and the seasoning was excellent. I definitely recommend it, and it's a great place to visit with family too.

The food was very bad I order the lobster burrito and I came with only white rice and a tinny little bit of lobster the guy that took my order looked high out of his mind Out of all I rate it a zero out of 5 don't go to the foothill location !!!!!! The rice was not even the right type of rice
There are many delicious options to choose from at this restaurant! My go-to dish is the California Bowl with grilled vegetables, and it's fantastic! Everything on the menu is also incredibly flavorful.
