I've been in the tavern side a couple of times and had a few drinks and a meal from the bar menu, which was excellent and really good value for money. The restaurant at the rear has a fabulous menu and is a great place to take the family both young and old, as they have a kids play room to the side of the restaurant. It's also a great place to eat during the summer months where you can sit outside on the terrace area.You have to go up to the bar area to order, but the food is brought to your table by the wait staff.
Whilst entree was good the mains for the 250 gram rumps were both over cooked and the waiter mixed up what sauce was on each order when they came out, had to go to counter to order desert and over 20 minutes to have plates...cleared which only happens when desert arrives. Have tried to give them benefit of doubt a couple of times but with what you pay should be better. Medium steak was well to medium and medium was well done to dry overcooked. Wish it was better. Sorry guys.
Arrived on Friday evening about 6.30 pm. A guy was singing and playing guitar. He was good. Four of us settled into a table which was dirty. Luckily we had some tissues and cleaned it. Went up to the bar. Three team members were at...the end of the bar chatting. We were totally ignored despite waving at them. Finally one of them came over and said “are you alright”. We said no we want to order some drinks. Drinks arrived but not a good experience.
Sold out of Rumps and Ribs at 6.45, so tried the seafood basket. Please, if anybody finds a worse seafood basket, let me know. It was the smallest I have ever seen for $29.95. 2 prawns, 2calamari. 1 scallop, 1 very small piece of fish, all deep fried with 13 chips!???? VERY disappointing, would not go back nor recommend. Beer was nice and cold I will give them that, but with plenty of options in Runaway Bay, try the others nearby!

I'm not surprised the staff are miserable and the place is empty on a Friday evening. Having worked in hospitality and tourism the past 25 years, this place could really do with an overhaul. What a shame as there's so much potential...
eat very average, the staff was great, but that is where it stopped, the drinks were the most expensive I had paid everywhere, the eating was very bad for the price paid, they try the local ligas club as it is better to eat.
I'm a native, I didn't come here because eating was waste, I wouldn't feed my dog. well to see a change in chefs with real experience we are back as regular. eating is now 10/10 spectacular.
My family and I visited this restaurant a few years ago, and it's still fantastic. The staff is friendly, the gaming room is great, and the sports bar has been updated.

The food was exceptional this evening and the meal was served quickly. The chef's expertise was evident in every dish. Well-executed cooking.
Very helpful and friendly staff plus good food made for a really good christmas lunch, at a very reasonable price
