We came here for some late night drinks and food, after spending all day in the mountains exploring and hiking. We were tired and really just wanted some ice cold cocktails and finger foods. This was the perfect place for both!There was live music last night and the duo was very very good. The music was loud but not intrusive. You can still carry on a conversation without having to yell. It is open seating. We found a table by the window and our server, Jill, came right away and she was very friendly. She took our drink orders promptly and came back with the drinks within minutes. We dined at the lounge twice while staying at the Banff Springs. The size of the space is generous and there are many different styles of seating..from couches and coffee tables to more traditional tables and chairs. It is open seating so you can pick what you want but when it is crowded the options are limited to those that are less desirable; we ended up sharing one one visit. The service was minimal/below average; in both cases we found ourselves trying to spy our server to flag them down. Food came out slowly considering it is 'bar food'. Have gone to the Banff Springs Hotel for Afternoon Tea many times. The last couple of years the price has gone up and the service has gone down. They used to offer up all the different teas for you to smell and could try a few selections. Now you just order off the menu and they bring you a big pot of your one selection in a Tea bag. You used to get the tea and poured it and was all part of the experience. Also the cost has become very expensive, $30 to park, $49 per adult and $24 per child plus taxes and tips. The food is great, and the setting is beautiful, just do not think it is worth the $180 for tea and lunch any longer. We will not be back, too bad, we will miss it.
Lovely views, tranquil setting. Expensive 7 oz white Drouhin wine. The wine was nice, but expensive at $20. Ordered cauliflower salad. It was curried, and quite good. However it would have been better with a bed of greens. Friends ordered the potato salad and it was basically a pile of diced potatoes. Hard to find the eggs and capers. Perhaps skip the salad, and enjoy the wine, and ambiance.
the location plays a really important role in this case, really spectacular. courteous staff, cocktails and quality snacks make you forget the cost quite high. What you can say is that it is definitely worth it!
This location had such amazing ambience and enough privacy to host separate events or just restaurants and walk by beverage highlights.
From the views to the staff....kick back alone or with friends. Enjoy a good drink or a coffee and drip up the history.
Great service and food. The British Columbia wines were excellent. It was very crowded and noisey through.
I've been here plenty of times before to eat and loved it but this time I was left a little underwhelmed.
