Had heard great things about Ruth’s Chris as this was our first visit. We were greeted and seated by the friendly staff. Our server, can’t remember her name but she was great. She knew the menu well and made great suggestions. We started with crab cakes and a bowl of gumbo. The crab cakes were good, wish they had more lump crab meat. The gumbo tasted more like a tomato soup with shrimp. I’ve had better gumbo. We had two ribeyes, one cooked medium and the other cooked medium rare and lamb chops. Came in tonight very excited to show my girlfriend who had never been and I had just gone to the one in St.Louis so l expected it to be the same great service and food. Well the server was very nice, but the food wasn 't. Both of our steaks were extremely tough on the outside which made them hard to cut. We asked for toppings for our steaks and didn 't get them, and our potatoes were so cold, if it weren 't for the plate they put in the microwave for 45 seconds, we would 've be eating cold mash potatoes. We had a reservation with a table request and were seated immediately upon arrival. Our server could not have been better. Everything was served at just the right time with drinks and water and a warm basket of bread and butter within minutes of ordering. Each course was served at just the manner in which it should . Our server was personable and served with a smile with every encounter we had with her. Our steak was prepared exactly as ordered. It was a very enjoyable evening with my husband and everything about Ruth Chris was spot on. I highly recommend.
My husband’s 65th birthday was a delightful success. Our server was friendly, informative and knowledgeable about all things being offered and served. We weren’t disappointed and our dinner was fabulously delicious. The steaks were perfection and the vegetables perfectly done. The cocktails that we ordered were terrific as well. We did have a dinner reservation and there was no wait to be seated and served. We will be returning again for many future celebrations!

The meal was excellent. However, the seafood tower (a specialty) was not available. The bourbon I ordered was at first not available, but then was available and the drinks took an excessive amount of time. We notified at the time of reservation that this was a special birthday celebration and there was no acknowledgment of same. Our server was attentive and friendly.
Chris and I have dines at Ruth's Chris in a numner of cities for many years with womderful experience . However Tuesdy night at Ruth's Chris in H omewood, AL was the very best! Everything about the Retaurant, Abbience, Service and Food was outstnding.......... Really, just outstnding!!
Filets were excellent. Lyonnaise potatoes were even better. Love the bread. Michael was an excellent server. Comp birthday desert was much appreciated. Highly recommend.
We celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary here for dinner and the service was awesome. Our server was awesome and made our day special. We will be back again.
