Rutt's Hut is a legendary eatery famous for its hot dogs, but it offers a variety of delicious food as well. The burgers are tasty, and the chili and fries smothered in gravy make excellent sides. It's a cash-only establishment with two distinct dining areas—takeout in the back and indoor seating in the front. They stay open late on weekends, so there’s plenty of time to enjoy a meal. Plus, you can bring your camping chairs and dine in the spacious parking lot. What's not to love?
If you like an old greasy spoon kind of place, then you 're in luck! Home of the ripper since 1928. A ripper is a hot dog deep fried until it rips open. There was a significant line at 2:45 in the afternoon if that tells you how popular it is, but they are fast it didn 't take long to get served or get our food. We got a hot dog platter (pot sal, slaw, let, tom, peppers) and a shrimp platter (fries slaw).
A trip to Rutt's Hut is always a super treat. Been going for years. Love their ripper hotdogs (the snap of the dog is so good! and chili. The chili has a great kick to it. Tried the shrimp sandwich this time, delicious. Never disappointed with Rutt's.

One of my favorite hot dog spots in Jersey specializes in fried hot dogs known as "rippers." They also create their own incredibly tasty relish. The chili is outstanding as well, featuring just the right amount of spice.
Great hot dog spot in NJ! The hot dogs were delicious and the homemade relish was the perfect topping! The homemade bread pudding was super moist with just the right amount of sweetness. Highly recommend a visit here!
I was told to come here by a good friend... Her dad used to eat here and loved it, so I stopped in and got a couple of dogs. They were good and I loved the homemade sweet relish.
