I found it quite frustrating when I called last week at 7:40 to order a sub, only to be told they couldn't take my order because they close at 8. This morning, I called at 7:30 and was informed that they were only serving cold sandwiches because they would be closing at 8:00. If that's the case, why not set a cutoff time at 7:30? Typically, when a restaurant closes at 8, that means they stop taking orders after that time. As a customer, it’s confusing not to know when exactly I can place my order. Which sub shop closes its hot sandwich orders at 7:30? Does that mean I need to call before 7:00 to get a hot sub, or is that too close to closing time? I'm really trying to order from here!
At 12 PM, I decided to call back to check on my order. This time, she again responded rudely, claiming she never said it would take half an hour and that the driver didn’t leave until 11:30. I pointed out that she could have informed me about the delay, but she simply said the driver was on the way before hanging up on me again. When the food finally arrived, it was completely cold. Overall, I was very dissatisfied with the customer service and the quality of the food.
Yesterday, we picked up two cheesesteaks and were disappointed to find that they were much smaller than expected. This is particularly disappointing because Sacko's has been a family favorite for years. I don't think we'll be returning again. The locations in Absecon and Ventnor are far superior! It's frustrating to see such a decline, especially considering the prices we are paying these days. The city administration really needs to step up.
The person I spoke with was great and asked all the right questions, so I thought. Re read the order, felt that it would be good. Order 2 entire regulars, especially asked for oil and vinegar, all the subparts were dry. Ordered a ham with American cheese and salami, got ham, provolone and no salami. I always went to Sacco dubs but over the last few times it has been going down hill. I got a chicken cheese steak with lettuce tomatoes and fried onions and this is what they gave me! Disquieting!! I told my husband I would give them one more chance and this was it!!! No more chances!!
Their food was great. 1st time ordering (got it delivered). Their rolls tend me of fresh baked bread. Their fried calamari was on point! My daughter is a very picky eater she loved their ham cheese hoagie fries.
Cheese steak tasted OK, However, they need to chop it up a lot more. Mushrooms and onions need to be cooked longer. What you would expect from someone who's not from Philly.
