This place came highly recommended.. let’s just say if you want bad service and applied food this would be the place for you. The sushi was no good and the cream cheese was spoiled. They acted like we lied to them when we told them this is bad. Anyhow we wanted to make this our new spot based upon the 3 recommendations from personal friends and we won’t return. Ohh mind you the waitress wanted to know if we would want anything else when we ordered because they were going to close early since there wasn’t enough people in the restaurant. Picnic sushi in Fort Lee is the freshest spot around. No need for us to try and find variety. Trust what you like and know!
The ingredients are consistently fresh, which is great. However, my main issue lies with how the chef prepares the meat, especially the beef. It tends to be cooked all the way through, resulting in a chewy texture. Whenever I remember to request my beef cooked medium or medium rare, I always get the response, "We will try." But that's not the point—there shouldn't be a "try" involved. In America, a professional chef should not frequently serve well-done beef when customers specifically ask for it cooked differently. I believe this chef should focus on cooking something else instead of handling meat.
The restaurant was quite busy when we visited, but the staff was incredibly friendly. We tried the recommended Laurie roll, and it was absolutely delicious! The other rolls we ordered were decent but didn't impress us like the Laurie roll did. The sushi prices were steep compared to other places, so we probably wouldn't return unless it was just for the Laurie roll.

The quality of customer service from the wait staff seems to have declined. It appears that they may not understand English very well.
