I'm a bit puzzled by some of the reviews I've read. I've been to a few sushi places nearby, and there are definitely better options available, so my experience here was disappointing. The sushi was overpriced for the number of pieces provided, and the taste was just average. I also ordered a house salad, but the container seemed to be filled with water and it overflowed when I opened it. In fact, there was about a third of a cup of water in the salad container. I'm not sure why there was so much water there at all—perhaps they washed the salad, but I don't want to deal with soggy greens before I eat.
My wife and I are thrilled to have found this restaurant. Honestly, it's the best sushi spot we've encountered in the Halifax area. The ingredients are top-notch, and the dishes are prepared with great care. The tempura is exceptional as well—not greasy and consistently cooked to perfection. They opened this year, and I really hope they stick around for a long time. We're officially regular customers now!
My father and I were there very first customers the day they opened back in 2011 or 2012 and I will admit it was better under the original owner but if you are looking for fresh fish with large portions then this is the place outside of downtown.
