The steak tacos at this restaurant were absolutely phenomenal. You might assume that all steak tacos are the same, but I urge you not to overlook this review. There was something unique about the way these tacos were prepared or the quality of the meat that truly made them shine. They were packed with flavor and incredibly tender. If you're looking to excite your taste buds, I highly recommend giving this place a try. Additionally, I sampled an enchilada plate that might have been in the style of Mexico City. Didn’t love Sammy’s at all. Chicago is known for having great food a place where you can walk in anywhere and get a good meal; and alas Sammy’s fell flat. The rice was unseasoned which is crazy for a Mexican restaurant. The tacos were only good with salsa and didn’t hold up well at all the next day. Just an all around no. Now if you want to go there have a few drinks and go someplace else for food, then by all means. Service: Dine in
The staff at Sammy's was incredible. They assisted me in organizing a Birthday Fiesta for my friends and family. We thoroughly enjoyed all the authentic Mexican cuisine and the incredibly tasty margaritas. This is my third time planning an outdoor event here, and each time they have done a fantastic job! I went to Sammy’s today after I did all my errands! I walked in and was greeted by Manuel (the manager and he took care of me from start to finish!! Awesome guy!! Was very attentive, professional, upsold me on the Cerviche (glad he did cause it was fire and made me a great Michelada that was bomb!!! I will definitely be back and thanks again Manuel!! Food: 5

The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was great. I enjoyed sitting outside on the patio. For the service, I opted for dine-in during dinner. The price was reasonable, around $10–20 per person. I would rate the food a solid 5, the service a 5, and the atmosphere also a 5. I highly recommend the Chips and Salsa, Chicken Fajitas, and Refried Beans.
Place is huge, service was fast but atmosphere could be little more arranged. It was our first here at the lunch. The place was having moderate occupancy. Best part, food was delicious. Sammy's offers a really fun atmosphere, with quality food and great drink offerings (especially margaritas). Service is outstanding overall, but if you're lucky enough to be there when Claudia is tending bar, you're in for a treat. She's amazing! This is the best Mexican restaurant in the suburbs! I highly recommend trying the margaritas, especially the pineapple and horchata flavors. The service is fantastic too!
