Hadn’t been for a few years having moved away from the area, however the fantastic service and excellent food still remain. Visited with 3 other friends on a cold Wednesday evening. Great selection of dishes, including the fiery “naga aroma” dish which was enjoyed by one of our group. Fresh and delicious naans plus great fluffy rice. The service is also superb. Will be sure not to leave it as long before returning.
We usually go to another curry restaurant in Tooting but on this occasion, they had no tables available so a family friend recommended Samrat's. It turned out to be a solid recommendation and we enjoyed a very nice meal. The service is the real strong point of Samrat's with a big smile and very accommodating. The two ladies in our group even received a rose at the end of the meal! We'll definitely be back.
This restaurant is a charming spot with multiple separate sections, allowing for some privacy. The tables are nicely set up and the service is efficient. The menu offers a variety of options, all of which are of above average quality. The prices are reasonable for London. The only drawback was the house red wine, which was poor quality British wine made with imported grape concentrate.
This was our second time dining here. The menu offers a variety of options, but it seemed like all our dishes were prepared using the same sauce. This seems to be a common trait in English Indian restaurants. The atmosphere was nice and the service was pleasant. It's a good place to visit if you're looking for a reasonably priced meal. I was born bred in Tooting the SAMRAT was just literally just round the corner so we were frequent visitors, the service was always on point either in person, on the phone or eating in the restaurant so was the food, I moved away 8 years ago I really miss getting a curry from here the ones up here in the shire just don’t cut it!
Very disappointed with our takeaway tonight after reading such good review. Butter chicken was so oily and way too sweet. It was inedible . Our other oil soaked meat and fish curry has more big chucks of onions and peppers with seeds still on in it than actual meat. £30 worth of food goes down the food waste bin . Never again.
I found the chicken in my dish to be very tough, and one of my guests mentioned that their dish tasted like a typical English meal. My nephew ordered the butter chicken, his favorite, and enjoyed it. It is recommended to know exactly what you want to order at The Samrat, and preferably have tried it there before.
There are booths so you can have a bit of privacy for your table. Good choice of food and starters . Nice atmosphere. Have been before and really liked it. This is one of our local restaurants and its great to see it is still good . Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
I am a life long curry fan and wherever I go I seek out the local restaurants. Yesterday, I ordered a lamb curry and vegetable Thali. It was sensational and of authentic flavours. I would highly recommend the food here.
