I really love this place—I’ve been coming here since I was a kid. However, there’s one employee named Suzie, or at least that’s what she said her name is. She has tattoos and I’ve tried to be polite with her. I asked if my meat could be cooked a little longer, and she snapped back that it’s always cooked and then hung up on me. When I arrived, she had a terrible attitude, didn’t greet me at all, and just told me to serve myself and get my own cup. When I asked where the cups were, I couldn’t believe it! What a disappointment to have someone like that working here.
What was once a cherished neighborhood restaurant has regrettably become a source of disappointment. I've been reluctant to share this review because I have such fond memories of how fresh and excellent the food used to be. I wanted to give it a few more chances to see if my previous experiences were just anomalies. Today, I ordered the Gyro Special plate, which has risen in price by $2 compared to a few years ago. I could accept this increase if the quality had remained consistent, but unfortunately, that’s not the case.
It was... okay. I got the chicken special that wound up costing nearly over $12 with a drink. The portion and amount of food they give you is very nice. The grilled chicken had flavor but seemed somewhat dry. The salad was okay and the hummus was great. The dish is piled high with rice under the grilled chicken. Would I come back? I was craving a Philly cheese steak and heard this place had a good reputation. However, they wanted to add mustard and salad on top (good gracious!), and the fries were heavily salted. To top it off, they served the sandwich on pita bread. A Philly cheese steak on pita bread? Seriously? The service was good, and the staff were nice, but honestly, a true Philly cheese steak wouldn’t even recognize itself in this dish.

Sam's Deli Grill provides exceptionally warm service, delicious food, and hearty servings. The hummus stands out, and the burgers and fries are equally fantastic. On pleasant days, you can relax in the back patio and admire the striking mural or sit at a front sidewalk table to enjoy some people-watching.
Eat with Sam feels like family. Sam and his team are wonderful. I tried the fungus-onion-swiss burger for the first time at his recommendation, and I was amazed by how delicious it was. I can't wait for my next visit to try more—especially the gyros and chicken plates!
Sam's Deli Grill offers delicious food at a great price. Every bite is packed with flavor, making it truly worth every penny. Given the high rent prices in the area, that's not something you find often.
A reliable favorite for us, Sam and his team are fantastic. I typically order salmon or tilapia, but I can't even count how many burgers I've purchased here over the years—my sons absolutely love them!

Hands down, best mushroom swiss burger around. I drive out of the way to get it every time I am in town. The fries are fantastic as well.
