Had supper the other night, first time at this restaurant, it was recommended by friends, the waitress was friendly and helpful, I asked her about fresh local shrimp (which is in season now) she replied they didn’t have fresh local shrimp, I asked about fresh local fish, she replied they didn’t have any, apparently they have frozen fish and shrimp shipped in, I was very disappointed and when I reported to my friends our experience they thought the restaurant had been sold as they used to have fresh seafood there. So they said they would not be going back there.
Normally Big Sam’s is a phenomenal experience for my family and I! We’ve been coming for the last 8 years. Tonight we came for dinner and the waitress was extremely more than rude so incredibly rude that we left the establish after they took have taken our order . I’m happy for Big Sam’s if they can get local deals but as a local we were extremely disappointed by both the service ajd service and general serval. Seriously Big’s Sam’s do better. Tonight was extremely disappointing as a costumer.
I'm not sure why anyone raves about this place, the service was decent but the food left little to be desired. I was looking forward to the crab soup, and it had big pieces of crab in it, but was quickly disappointed with a mouthful of salt that overtook the dish. Ordered a salad, no onion, came out with tons of onion.... the balsalmic salad dressing was chunky for some reason
It's an awesome little place with amazing food. My only complaint was those fabulous Oysters Rockefeller had little shell pieces in every single one. That's the second time that's happened and I'm so disappointed because they're so delicious. Wish they could keep the shells out and they'd be getting top scores across the board! That was some of the best food I've ever eaten. I had the inlet platter and the only thing I didn't really care for was the clams. And that was probably just my personal taste. Service was outstanding and the price was reasonable. Wonderful wonderful place.
Great FRESH seafood like it had been caught and cooked that day. Liked how it felt like a hug and comfortable and not stuffy like waterman's. Definitely well worth the money
Stopped in here for lunch. The best she crab soup of my trip! Service was fantastic and the atmosphere was so beachy! Loved it! Will go again
