We dropped in on our way back from Sunshine Coast to Brisbane. Great spot just by the protected beach area. We walked in pretty much on opening time and it was not trouble at all. Food arrived quickly, from friendly staff. Burgers were GREAT! Kids' meals were good too. We went on a Friday, when they hold 'Burger Mania' (any of their burgers - chicken, fish, beef or veggie) with chips for $10 and it was well worth it. They have a great kids' menu, happy for you to have water at your table and even gave the kids pencils and paper to use whilst waiting for their food. Cannot recommend this place highly enough!
Ordered the prawn bisque as a starter, was one of the specials, tasted bitter & not very nice! Told the staff I didn't like it but they said as it was a preference issue, I would still have to pay for it! My husband had it too but he ate it as he was so hungry!Very disappointing as I barely touched it!I have had prawn bisque before and it was not like the one served up here! Then the sparkling water came that I ordered and it was flat!!!Was a rubbish night out & left hungry, definitely won't be back!!!
On the night my wife and I visited The Sandbar they had a special dinner menu available for $15. Four choices were available and we had the beef burger and pasta options.We where greeted by a friendly waitress who made us most welcome. Our order was taken promptly as was our drinks requests. A short wait and our food was delivered and it looked very inviting on the plates. We were not disappointed as the both burger and pasta were excellent. A nice restaurant on the Esplanade with sea views.
We go to the Sandbar on a regular basis and enjoy the delicious Eggs Florentine and they make the best coffee in Caloundra. The seafood (prawns and oysters) on Friday nights during the summer months is absolutely awesome. The owners and the staff are very friendly and efficient. Would recommend to anyone wanting a very pleasant cafe experience.

Great food and fabulous service, and an outstanding view. What better combination could you ask for. My favourite this month is the Belgian waffles with lemon curd, meringue crumble, raspberry coulée and whipped butter. All meals both sweet and savoury are excellent.
Yes, it was very busy, and the wait of 40 mins was probably fair. But to wait that long for the worst food I have ever eaten or tried to, was overwhelming. Will never waste my money there again
Chips and chicken tasted like fish (obviously not cooked separately to the fish) Can't get a plain cheese toastie, has to be ham and cheese! $2.90 for a tiny tub of sauce! Coffee is amazing
we chose the family size take away meal and it was very substantial, feeding 4 adults and 2 children. Didnt have to wait too long either.

Great food, great service, great location. Five stars. Had corn fritters with avo, rocket, chilli jam, with a cup of tea. Kid friendly.
My wife and and I met friends for lunch. Very friendly waitress. Great food, very good value for money. Lovely location.
