Over all, Sante Fe is good. Always on the quest for good Mexican food, we read the reviews and decided to give it a shot. Chips, queso and salsa were average. My husband and I decided to take our teen out for a nice meal while visiting Hilton Head. The restaurant did not impress me at all. The atmosphere is not relaxing at all. The food was good, but the fact that they seated us next to a loud party of 12 made having a conversation almost impossible. The loud talking and screaming across to each other went on our entire meal. It is sad to see people not respect others. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance and the food is quite good. As someone from the Southwest, I sometimes find it challenging to assess places like this. I strive to be fair and consider the context of the restaurant. This spot definitely fits that category. I ordered the filet with cheese enchilada, and it was delicious. My partner tried the southwestern combination plate, but she wasn't very happy with her choice; however, she hails from Mexico, which may introduce a bit of bias. Our group of six descended on the outdoor cantina following a downpour. The staff graciously seated us outdoors but under cover much to our satisfaction. We enjoyed appetizers of chips, guacamole, and queso. Among our entrées we had fish and shrimp tacos, crab cakes and chili relleno all in terrific southwestern style. Our server, Sam, was so much fun. She provided great service, engaged us in conversation and shared her story. All making our dinner even more enjoyable. Great Mexican with an upstairs patio when it's nice out. Food was fresh and inspired with different takes on classic dishes. If you're looking for something different from the usual Mexican this is a nice place. I didn't drink alcohol anymore but it's got a nice selection and even had mezcal.
Clearly a restaurant that prepares everything from scratch. The service was friendly and knowledgeable. We shared a variety of dishes, and everything was fantastic. I will mention that the Chili Relleno was a bit different from what I expected, but that’s a minor issue. Overall, five stars!
I wouldn't mind waiting in line for hours just to eat here any day. The food is amazing—full of flavor and served in generous portions. The chimichanga and prime rib burrito are absolutely perfect!

One of my favorite places! Ceviche was phenomenal. If I have it but not really inviting I would have gone back a couple times for it.
