I found the service good, a young lady, very friendly. However the food was average. I ordered Korean options, because I know the owners are Korean, not Japanese. I figured the Korean food would be top quality. I ordered the Bulgogi and the Bi bim ba. The Bulgogi was ok, but not great. For the price I figured it would be better. Also often when eating Korean food there are extra vegetables included. ex, onions, cabbage, kimchi, etc. Also I had the Bi bim ba. Not served in a hot stone bowl as per the norm. It was good, but again, to minimum standard. Could have been better. In short, the food is good, the service is good, I simply expected better for the style of restaurant and the pricing. T...
I'm from Toronto and I've tried a lot of sushi places, but this is one of my favourite places. I mainly come here for the salmon sashimi as it is my favourite and it is delicious here. They also have Korean food, but I've never tried it. Everything does look good though. This place isn't all you can eat sushi, but this sushi is much better and higher quality than the other sushi places around Sudbury. I have also tried the chicken katsu and that is pretty good too, the dishes are well portioned. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
We have traveled to Japan several times and have been eating sushi for 40 years, so every time we get the chance to partake, we go for it. This restaurant was just a few minutes walk from the Best Western where we were staying. The a la carte sushi menu offered all of our favorites, plus I was able to choose seaweed salad, a favorite. Our meals were paired with two different types of sake. After, I indulged in a bit of green tea ice cream and red bean ice cream. Don't pass on Sapporo Ichibang when in Sudbury.
This restaurant offers gluten-free soy sauce, gluten-free wasabi, and rice made with white vinegar instead of rice wine vinegar. Despite being new to gluten-free options, I have never had any issues since trying the gluten-free soy sauce when ordering sushi from here. The sushi is always delicious and of great quality. The sushi at this restaurant was fantastic! The server was attentive in identifying all gluten-free options on the menu or items that could be made gluten-free. They also provided gluten-free soy sauce and wasabi, and the staff was well-informed about celiac disease.
First try in a Japanese restaurant on Canadian soil and frankly not disappointed! The taste is there and the inventiveness of Japanese cuisine is very pleasant. Fast service and in French (which is highly appreciated for Francophones)I recommend!
