There was a 40 minute wait quote, so we went into their bar area and tried their house lager (a local brewery makes a line of products for them); we both really enjoyed it. They had live music which was nice. Our wait was shorter than quoted and we got a seat on the patio. We had the smoked chicken (came with a white sauce) and pulled pork (which had a vinegar-based bbq sauce). They have a fun selection of available sides; we had the deviled eggs and cheese grits. This location used to be my favorite of Saw's in Birmingham, but unfortunately the quality has deteriorated a lot over the past couple of years. The service has always been great, no complaints there. But every recent visit has come with an issue either being out of basic things like pork, or having very low quality pork that's mostly fat. Today I gave them another try and was again disappointed. I ordered the pork and greens as usual, and the pork tasted like it was either leftover or had been made in a slow cooker. No smoke, or any, taste whatsoever. I ordered a banana pudding to go and was dismayed when I opened it later to find all the banana pieces to be rotten and completely brown. Unf...
This place offers an amazing overall experience. The food is delicious and unlike anything else, the service is incredibly friendly, and the drinks are great. You can enjoy watching sports quietly in the background while live music creates a fantastic atmosphere. I’ll definitely be making SAW's a must-visit every time I'm in Birmingham.
We ate here yesterday and our food and service were excellent. We usually eat at the Homewood Saws, but enjoyed visiting this location. The fried green tomatoes were amazing, as always. Our food arrived quickly and was piping hot. Our server was prompt and polite. An outstanding meal!

Oh man...Saw's Juke Joint offers southern soul food at its best. This place is a treasure that should be visited often.
