We went having looked at the website with high expectations. The refurb if you can call it that was cheap looking and there was no atmosphere with all the tables clustered in the middle and this area of larger tables at the back with net curtains. Not great seating space management. The waiting staff look scruffy. No branded tops, shoes, shirts, and trousers all different across everyone so no consistency and if wanting to compete with the likes of The Ivy and others, the branding and attention to detail is important. We chose Steak and Lobster. The portions were on the small size and whilst tasty there was no garnish on the steak plate so looked very mediocre and the lobster was expensive....
We held our wedding reception at Sexy Lobster on Friday 26th June, and it was absolutely incredible in every way: From the point of initial enquiries, the host team were fantastic, very easy to deal with and covered every detail so well. On the actual day, everything was perfect… the food, the drinks, the atmosphere, the attentiveness of all the whole team… they made sure our day was perfect. We had around 50 guests… welcome drinks on the terrace and then dinner in the upstairs dining area. We cannot recommend Sexy Lobster enough, it’s a very special restaurant that is now very dear to our hearts and we will return again and again. Never have I seen such a poorly executed restaurant.To start the evening we walk in and take our seats,as the weather is hot,we ask the staff to turn the AC but they tell us it’s in full power and leave us in the heat.Secondly,in the menu the food is described as to be this wonderful and full meals however as our order came we were left in shock.Not only was the food a bare minimum it almost had no flavor to it either.As a usual we ordered a burger,to our surprise it came as just the small burger,with the dry bun and the pattie.No side dish was included nor was there any filling in the burger.However they do have some nice beverages and that was the only good thing about our order.To top it...
We came to celebrate our 16th Wedding Anniversary and enjoyed Oysters and Champagne. We were blown away by the size of the oysters! The biggest ones we've ever had! We're served by Christian, who was charming and very welcoming. We'll be back! Ra &Bee
