The Verdict:<br/ Hole in the wall eatery with potential. Will return to try out other dishes like oxtail soup.<br/ <br/ The Context:<br/ <br/ I woke late, and was stuck having lunch around 2pm, and meeting friends for an early 5:30pm dinner before catching Brian Cox Robin Ince at Brisbane Convention Centre at 7:30pm. As a result, I considered a smaller feed, which meant I could consider entrees, which opened me up to considering places I don't usually go to. <br/ <br/ Came across Shalom on Yelp I've seen the shop many times at Pinelands, and was intrigued by its resilience in the cut throat Sunnybank food scene despite its unassuming appearance, and decided to try it, as I'm unfamiliar with...

One of the few Indonesian restaurants in town. Located at the corner of the Pinelands Plaza, the store has both indoor and semi-outdoor seating areas, capable of accommodating a huge number of customers.<br/ <br/ My all-time favourite is the Gado-Gado. The vegetables were fresh, topped with flavourful peanut sauce. However, I also enjoyed the Iga Bumbu Rujak; the meat was tender and juicy, while the sweet sauce pairs with it perfectly. The noodles were also great, specifically the Mi Ayam Jamur and the Mi Abang-Abang (the two have slightly different sauce and toppings). Another menu that was delicious was the Soto Betawi; tasted so authentic!<br/ <br/ For the portion size given and the price...

I had Ayam Bakar Penyet and Batagor. <br/ <br/ They have variety of Ayam Bakar and Ayam Goreng which is awesome. I’d like to try them all. First of all, they are not expensive. Also, their chili or sambal is superb. <br/ <br/ The batagor is okay I guess. I thought they have both Baso and Tahu well because Batagor stands for Baso Tahu Goreng but sadly this is only Tahu Goreng with peanut sauce. But the peanut sauce is awesome<br/ <br/ They also serve snacks or jajanan like martabak, risoles, etcetc as well as teh kotak

This popular Indonesian restaurant continues to improve. Walking in at 1pm the restaurant is bustling with hungry diners. I place my order and pay at the counter. <br/ <br/ My Sop Buntut (Oxtail Soup) is aromatic and intense, a truely delicious soup. The serving of Oxtail is generous and cooked just right. I love the chewy texture of Oxtail. Thank you guys! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

I visited the restaurant alone and tried the batagor, bakso abang abang, and empal goreng penyet. The prices were reasonable and the portions were slightly smaller for the smaller dishes. However, the service was very fast, which was a big plus. Overall, it's a great option for quick, affordable, and delicious food!

loving the gado gado (salad with peanut sauce) here, and the non spicy option of roast beef empal bumbu rujak. is so charcoal grilled, loving the charcoal flavour. if you are up for a little spice, go for the green chili beef, the spice just keep coming to the throat, burning but not like a hot red one.

Relax atmosphere, very tight space, the service is so so. Some of the food are quite good, can be very spicy for those who are not used to the heat. The rice seems to be always overcooked or soggy. Price is quite expensive, so we only go there for if we crave Indonesian food.

The flavors were good, but the portions were smaller than usual. The grilled chicken and beef ribs were flavorful and seemed authentic. The fish or beef ball soup, priced at $7, was a very small bowl of clear soup with only 6 balls. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

This restaurant offers delicious authentic Indonesian cuisine with generous portions at reasonable prices. It's a great spot for a quick lunch, but not ideal for lingering.
