Thank goodness for this pub! I was in Hobart for a few days, and I couldn 't find anywhere open to eat in the evenings, outside of subway and a lot of Asian cuisines (which unfortunately isn 't my taste) and I was feeling increasingly desperate to locate somewhere to get a good easy meal. I stumbled upon this little pub and honestly it 's a absolute gem. Good food, good service, simple and warm atmosphere, good location, and serves food on Sunday nights too! I ate here the remaining 3 nights of my trip to Hobart and I 'm sad I won 't be able to go again. The Shamrock Hotel is a cozy little pub/restaurant that has everything you would want in a bar. Good atmosphere lovely open fire in winter , cheap good quality food $10-25 bucks for mains, brilliant! which are available all day which suits me because I wont get off work to have my lunch until 3:30 cheap on tap drinks with a good wide range on tap, Happy hour that is technically hours* runs for 2 hours and great friendly staff that juggle a workload most people in hospitality couldn't hack. If you're looking for a fine-dining snooty experience look elsewhere, this is a good old classic family pub where people can relax and have a night out that doesn't clear out your wallet. There is nothing better than a friendly classic Aussie pub. We called in here for lunch and a beer on a Saturday afternoon. The place was filled with a mixture of locals and visitors. Guiness on tap which made my husband happy. The food was really good and value for money is incredible. We both got chicken snitzels and the meals were large and filling and delicious....and the price was soooo cheap for what you got. If we had been staying in Hobart longer we would've eaten here multiple times. A great find.
Great value...great meal! How can you complain about a $10 lunch/dinner!! Quick service in the dining room and food was hot and well cooked. Can 't rate the food or service highly enough, and the value was amazing!!! We were so impressed, that even though we were only in Tassie for 4 days, we ate dinner here twice!! The steaks here were better than one of the supposed 'high end ' resturants we ate at in Hobart!!!
Never been here before but is the best meal we have had in Tasmania!!! Great cheap meals and the atmosphere was chilled! Will definitely tell people who are heading to Hobart! Thanks guys, finished our tassie trip off perfectly
We are so glad you didn’t get flooded. This was our favourite place to go each night while we were in Hobart. Best food, friendly atmosphere and a great Host. Looking forward to a return trip some day.

By far the best value in Hobart, $12 rump with chips and salad, $16 meat lovers parmy, $12 beef schnitzel.. great pub grub.. would give it 10/10 anyday !
