I am fed up with this restaurant. I have visited numerous times, only to find it closed. Today, I checked their website which stated they close at 2pm for lunch. I arrived at 12:54, and the sign indicated they were open. However, when I went inside, they told me they were closed despite the sign saying otherwise. I mentioned their website closing time of 2pm, but they still insisted they were closed. I have supported them during the pandemic through phone orders and frequent visits, but I have reached my limit. It is disappointing that they cannot be reliable for their loyal customers. I will not be returning and suggest others do the same. Their service may be good, but they have lost a loy...
So I walked into this establishment with an appetite! Unfortunately the server looked like she had been sucking on lemons all day! Not only was she so unpleasant she gave me the impression that she didn't want to be bothered with!! After waiting 45 minutes, my dinner finally came out. Not even with the big appetite I carried could I mustard swallowing this food! My bento box looked pitiful and tasteless. The Combo Sashimi didn't look any better. As per my husband, he rated his meal a high 2! Arigato Makuni here we come!!!
Absolutely wonderful! Quality ingredients well used, the flavors are present in every bite, and you leave full and content. Service was on the point, they have great roles and daily specialties. That's right. The dining area is intimate and cozy, they are not a trendy alternative to a bar/club like some sushi joints trying to be, they are exactly what you want when you want sushi. Reliable, clean and consistent.
BBQ Albacore, Wakame Salad (from Oto's), tenpura veggies, tenpura shishito starters were all as expected. Saporro and Echigo stout were right in temperature and taste. Chirashi Sushi and nigiri/shishimi Combo dinners were fresh and properly prepared. Service was incompatible and ordered items were forgotten or delayed.

The restaurant has new ownership now and it is clear that they are not as invested in it as the previous owner. It used to be a popular spot in Sacramento when it was located on Arden Way. It's unfortunate to see how things have changed since they moved to the hill.
Came in at 5:15pm and got seated right away. The nigiri were fresh, I specifically liked the ocean trout nigiri. The specialty sushi was also pretty good. The service was prompt. I recommend this place and I would dine here again.

I wish the best in his rest. they have perfected their craftsmanship and there is no place to go, but to finish it on a high note. only the problem is.

Best sushi in the Sacramento area. I miss it and the fabulous boss/owner. I never had a bad meal and the service was perfect.
The best real Japanese sushi in Sacramento hands down. Their take on the newer roll styles are unbeatable as well.
