Surprisingly large cafe inside the shopping centre. Love the elegant booths inside the cafe but they are popular during busy times. Shingle Inn is justifiably famous for its cakes and sweets to eat in or take away. An extensive menu of made to order meals or many ready made selections available too. Wide variety of hot or cold beverages to choose from also. Service is very fast and efficient. The pleasant staff are attentive and quick to tidy tables between diners and remove used crockery etc., It is very family oriented with children's meals and high chairs.They do fantastic Eggs Benedict and all prices are reasonable for the high level of food and service.
Went to the Shingle Inn to celebrate a girfriend's birthday and to buy her lunch. I was so disappointed and wished I had gone somewhere else. You hear of all these great reviews about the Famous Shingle Inn and expect things to be great. The service at the cash register warm and friendly..it went downhill from there sadly. Our Chicken Schnitzel meal was dry, fried and overcooked. The accompanying Caesar Salad was a little weird...and the coffees overpriced. I wont be returning with so many other great surburban cafes to choose from. I really think you have to step it up a notch or change your name.
We visited this café for morning tea during a shopping break at the Brookside Shopping Centre where it is located. The décor and surroundings are very impressive with a welcoming and warm ambience and the seating inside is very comfortable creating a pleasant atmosphere. The cakes we chose from the large range in the display cabinet were fresh and tasty while the coffee was excellent. Although it was rather busy, the service was very good.
The Shingle Inn cakes are still way ahead of every other cafe carrying the standard coffee shop fare.The decor may seem dated but that is the charm of Shingle Inn. The day they stop trying to be quaint I will stop going.The savoury food fills the spot, but it's their beautiful butter cake that I adore. The service is always friendly and as someone who orders their cakes regularly for special occasions, I will be back.

Had lunch here. A party of three all up costing $70. Meals were average with my raviolli having an overwhelming taste of butter. Service was average to slow with staff being cheerful enough. Decor was a little dated and whilst it is wheel chair accessible it becomes quite crowded. Best spot for wheelchair users is in the walkway seating.Average experience and have had better at other shingle inns.
This is one place you can go, and always get the same great meal. We just had a toasted sandwich, but try their chicken, avocado and camembert. It is a little pricey for what it is, but well worth it. It's not too noisey being in the shopping centre, so you can still have a great chat. They have a good range to choose from, and their coffee's arent bag either!
Oh dear! Never again. This cafe is located just outside of the Food Hall. Yes, should have just eaten in the Food Hall. Staff were personable but coffee tepid! Yes I know that we are in Queensland and no one makes a hot coffee incase they get sued but please let the water boil. Best coffee we have had in last 6 months was in a wee cafe in

Met a friend here for lunch. Quite a good selection of the usual cafe fare on offer. Not cheap. A trip down memory lane for customers from years ago.
