I LOVE THIS PLACE. IVE ALWAYS COME BACK FOR TUMERIC LATTE BECAUSE ITS THE BEST PLACE TO BUY IT FROM. THIS ONE STAR REVIEW PURELY REFLECTS ON MY LAST VISIT AND THE QUALITY OF MY DRINK. THIS TIME THE TUMERIC LATTE WAS NOT IT. IM NOT SURE IF THE BARISTA WASNT EXPERIENCED OR THEY HAVE CHANGED THE RECEPIE. IT HAD WAY TOO MUCH POWDER! I ALWAYS GET IT UNSWEETENED SO THAT WASNT THE ISSUE. I TASTED VERY DENSE AND POWDERY. I WAS IN A RUSH TO WORK SO I DIDNT HAVE MY SIP UNTIL I PARKED AT WORK AND HAD TIME TO CALMLY ENJOY MY DRINK AND THATS WHEN I REALIZED ITS NOT HOW IT USUALLY TASTES. I WOULDNT BOTHER WRITING THE REVIEW BUT I JUST DIDNT GET MY MONEYS WORTH SINCE IT WAS UNDRINKABLE. AND WANT THE REASSU...
Update:they raised the prices but haven’t changed menu nor do they tell you when you order. It wasn’t till after I was charged that I realized the price increase. And service is the same: cold and unwelcoming. Waited over 20 minutes for a cafe au lait (it wasn't busy at all) and when it was finally ready it was just left on the counter while the employee socialized with a friend. The least she could've done was hand it to me and apologized for the wait when I walked up. Simple gestures go a long way.
I'm travel for work and pleasure and I'm always looking for a coffee shop with good vibes. In the US, it's rare to find a black woman owned coffee shop that also roast their own beans! These ladies know their beans! You will feel welcome when standing outside, and then when you go in, the love will comfort you like a hug. They have the best Guatemalan roast, I've found in this country from east to west and north to south! If you don't believe me, then try them out.
The staff is wonderful and patient, which I love. I loathe when it’s a hurry up and get your order no love kind of rush. Not here. Nobody is in a rush there is love in the items prepared and lots of friendly smiles. The lattes were delicious as well as the vegan pretzel croissant. Lots of milk alternatives too, which I love. I really love this place!! What a gem to have in our community. The service is excellent and the baristas are so professional. The prices are reasonable, pastries are delicious (cream cheese danish, coffee cake… yummm). I also really love the vibe and atmosphere. I definitely recommend coming here and supporting this business.
Been hopeful for years for a coffee spot in my neighborhood like this for over almost 2 decades because we deserve this real ambiance too and so happy this is here for my people and hope they remain for decades more
This place is such a gem! Cozy, quiet, and cool this place has the vibes I look for in a cafe study spot. Added plus the baristas are friendly, the music is great and they're open late M F.
