This is a family owned restaurant that specializes in delicious, sizzling hot plates! Located in a corner inside of the Haven City food hall, you can't miss it with their cute logo of a cat sipping on a drink. They have convenient self serve kiosks you can order from and several tables and bar seatings. We ordered the shrimp tempura and spring onion pancake appetizers, spicy shrimp udon and steak and shrimp deluxe entrées, iced cantaloupe green tea and iced lychee tea. Appetizers: Shrimp tempura 10/10: this came with 4 pieces of tempura and were fried perfectly to a light crisp. Sizzlin' Place is located inside Haven City. I have finally tried it for the first time after coming to Haven City for years. It did not disappoint. My friend and I met here for dinner and we both had the rib eye. I got it with rice which also came with corn, carrots, and mashed potatoes. She got hers with steak fries which came with onions for a side. We also got the tempura shrimp and onion pancake with egg and cheese. The steaks were cooked perfectly and the onion pancake was delicious. I didn't care too much for my sides as my steak topped with a little pat of garlic butter took center stage. Can I give half a star?? Actually minus 5 stars would be a more accurate score. The food was way over priced for something I could have made better, by myself at home, blindfolded. Would it kill the chef to use ANY kind of seasoning. Close your eyes and imagine an orphanage... who lost their funding... THAT is what the expensive food tasted like. NOTHING. To make matters WORSE, when I went back up to ask for some soy sauce for the bland and flavorless rice, chicken, with 1/2 a can of corn tossed on top, they had the AUDACITY to charge me!! I placed my order at the kiosk, and a staff member brought over a buzzer. To my surprise, the food was ready in under 10 minutes! The plate was extremely hot and truly sizzling. It was so hot that the rice became crispy, which I really enjoyed for that added texture. Once the buzzer went off, I picked up my food. There are seats available at the counter and tables in the dining area. Overall, the prices here are much more affordable than at Pepper Lunch, and I found the plates to be hotter with more flavorful rice. The only reason I'm not giving this place a full five stars is that the rice and garlic butter seasoning were a bit too salty for my liking. I'm not sure if they missed the less... The drinks were refreshing, juicy, and a nice balance of sweet and sour. It went well with my saltier meal. I shared a sizzling salmon belly with rice with my partner. The rice had all the seasoning needed to eat it alone and enjoy it just fine. The salmon belly was quite fatty and soft, which grilled nicely on my sizzling plate. And the mixing of the flavors was very comforting, with familiar and new flavors, and their teriyaki soy sauce was saltier than I'd thought it would be, but it may be because the rice was sweeter than I'd thought it would be. Whoever is masterminding these combinations are really thinking things through. I liked it though.
Absolutely love the sizzling plate concept and they've got everything to compliment it as well drinks sides all on deck with their teas, takoyaki, chicken karaage, and so much more! They launched their milk tea recently so be sure to pair that with your meal! Been a big fan of the sizzling udon plates they have, whether it be with the shrimp or chicken, it all comes together with the spices sprinkled all around and makes for an amazing udon dish after mixing it all together. Owner is super nice and a great crew overall, definitely will be back soon!
I had a wonderful experience at Sizzlin' Place. I ordered the karaage donburi (fried chicken) and a bowl of spicy ramen, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. Everything was prepared just the way I like it. The chicken was perfectly crispy, and the ramen was packed with flavor, striking the perfect balance of spice. With so many options at Haven City Market, it can be a bit overwhelming to decide what to choose. However, I can confidently say that this was an excellent choice for me.
Located in the haven city market, this place has so many sizzling options! I had the lamb and shrimp sizzling plates. The lamb was a little tough but the shrimp was really good!! The dry ramen noodles were also really tasty!! I ate the whole bowl!! shrimp tempura is a classic, crunchy and tasty salmon was one of my favorites. udon noodles were so creamy and yummy They also have a bunch of yummy drinks! This is such a fun spot with so many flavor options. Their drinks are cute with sugar levels that are adjustable and toppings that are familiar. And the sizzling combos are such a treat of flavors, textures, colors, and dynamics. You can make your own crispy price or adjust the level of cook for your meats!
