The reason I put 3 stars is because the service was good. My husband, toddler and I went there for dinner, first the forgot to put avocado on my husband's burguer which we did not mind because the guys were very busy and everyone makes mistakes , second my son's burguer was a simple bun and a piece of meat, no mayo, no lettuce, onion, pickle or tomato, when I went to ask if they could put some vegetables in it they told me that they were not allowed to put anything in the kids burguers are you serious? The staff at store #1247 in Aliso Viejo, CA, were fantastic! They immediately informed us about their weekend promotion: buy one, get one free. We decided to take advantage of the offer, and before we knew it, our food was brought to our table. While we were enjoying our meal, my boyfriend noticed that his double avocado bacon burger didn't have cheese. After checking the menu again, he realized that cheese was an optional add-on. Aside from this small issue, we had a wonderful overall experience.
I've experienced both great and terrible Smashburgers, and unfortunately, this one from AV didn't impress. It seems they don't clean the grill properly, and as a result, the burger ended up being overly greasy and messy. When they remove the meat patty, they scoop up all the excess grease and end up putting it right onto the bun. It's quite unappetizing!
