Cool, rainy December day calls for bbq and Smokehouse 228 did not disappoint. I may have been the first customer of the day, but was quickly and warmly greeted. I ordered the Pudgy Plate, which comes with 2 meats and 2 sides. I got pork and brisket. The meat was hot and juicy. For sides I got the Cajun potato salad and slaw. I highly recommend the Cajun potato salad! It’s on the lake but this time of year it’s a mud pit. I need to come back in the spring. But this time of year go for the excellent bbq!
Stopped with friends after adventuring and was worth going out of the way for. It’s on the marina and used to be another bbq joint Sweet P’s. Super casual dining. Everyone who worked there was very kind, it felt like eating at a family bbq. The meats were delicious, but the Mac n Cheese was amazing (like seriously, what magic is in that cheese sauce? . This place is fantastic! The BBQ is amazing, and the portions are quite generous. You definitely won’t regret visiting this restaurant. The mac and cheese is a must-try!
