The quality control at this restaurant is HIT OR MISS. I always order the shredded pork sandwich or platter. When its FRESHLY cooked its amazing. the problem is, its hardly ever freshly cooked! Tonight I ordered The shredded pork platter, and the pork was warmed over leftovers from the day before, or maybe the day before that! So dry you almost couldnt eat it unless you slathered it with a ton of barbecue sauce. The baked beans were always way too thick, pasty. I usually have to add water to them. If you order from this restaurant, it MIGHT be very good. Just keep your fingers crossed when youre placing your order!
We ordered a bowl of Tomato Bisque Soup and the Kids Pork Sammy. My nephew liked the sandwich and applesauce, but I was let down by the lukewarm cup of soup that was only half full. If the soup had been hot and the portion had been as expected, it would have been delicious. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling quite disappointed.
Great restaurant!!! The food was amazing, service was fast and professional, there are plenty of tables so did not have to wait at all, price is as respected for the type of food and location, there is also plenty of parking spaces. Highly recommended.
The hand-pulled platter was excellent as usual. Every time I eat at Smokey Bones, it feels like a special occasion. The food is incredible, and I always make it a point to order the baked beans with any entrée—they're a must-try!
