As long as I've been attending the week-long International Bluegrass Music Association IBMA World of Bluegrass [hidden link] in Raleigh, N.C., I've been having a meal or two at Sono Sushi. I accidentally discovered Sono in 2017 and gave it a try. I was very impressed with the quality and selection of their sushi and other Japanese cuisine, drinks, and their impeccable service. Went in for lunch today with a couple friends, and was limited on menu choices due to my fish allergy however my server Patty and the manager were both incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating and helped me find a few things I was able to order and overall I really felt went above and beyond. While not able to get the items I initially wanted, the pork gyoza (minus the soy sauce which also had dashi) , the cucumber rolls and ginger salad were all great.
We have been coming for years and the sushi never disappoints- fresh, good portions, the right temperature. Andrew, our server (and bartender) was especially amazing- fun, expedient and knowledgeable. Thank you Andrew for a fun pre- concert dinner (you were more fun than the concert)!
The restaurant is very noisy and the small lobby makes it difficult to get a table. The prices were not the same as on the website, possibly due to it being Valentine's Day. However, the food and drinks were worth the price. It could be a good place for dining alone at the bar.

The food is always amazing, but If I could give 10* for service I would. I want to personally thank Reggie and Marika. Reggie thank you for helping us on the phone call. Marika thank you for the unbelievable service. We have always loved Sono Sushi, but Wow!
Had a great time at Sono Sushi! My friend and I had the Ishiyaki BBQ, which we didn't realize was a whole event where you can cook the beef yourself! So fun and tasty! The service was great, the food came out surprisingly quick, and it was delicious.
The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. The service was great and the ambiance was pleasant. The prices were fair and comparable to other restaurants in the downtown area.
I have been able to enjoy authentic Japanese cuisines in Raleigh unintentionally. And all staff are very friendly. Thank you for a good dinner time.

Excellent service and an amazing dining experience! We enjoyed the dragon eel, Diablo, and pink Floyd rolls. Delicious!
