We first dined at Sopranos just a few months after it opened in 2001. We were semi-regulars there for the ensuing few years and, after moving away from Perth, we've tried to get back whenever we visit. Incredibly, over sixteen years of trading, the consistency of food and quality of service have been maintained and our recent visit affirmed this. We enjoyed a meal of high quality ingredients, excellently prepared and presented - the wood-fired pizzas are still some of the best we've eaten. A multitude of small dining areas in the historic building, with rich timber and warm lighting, make for a lovely ambience; great for a lively group or for a romantic dinner for two. Located within walking distance to the Windsor Pub - which is a great place for a beer beforehand or after dining. Parking is available directly across the road in the ZOO parking (at night time). We went on a busy Saturday night and we were Greeted and seated quickly. BYO wine only - large menu heaps to choose from Pizza, pasta, risotto, meat/chicken, seafood and salads. Mains start at $18 for pizza - prices average around $25 for main but up to 30's for meat dishes. We shared Salsiccia al Forno - Spicy Italian sausage, woodfired with kalamata olives. $15 and Wood-Fired Pizza Bread - With basil pesto, olive tapenade and evo/balsamic. We had a family dinner here on the night Soprano's was celebrating its 17th birthday.Our table consisted of four adults and four children. Service was attentive, and an effort was made to ensure the children's needs were catered for, something that you don't encounter in every restaurant. Full marks!The food was fairly standard Italian Pizzeria/restaurant fare, and was enjoyed by all.Prices are reasonable, and there is the (price and choice) advantage of bringing one's own wine. While there is nothing outstanding about this restaurant, it is easy to see why they have survived in a competitive market for so long. I would recommend for a casual night out or a family meal.
When I walked in the restaurant they said to our face NO IPADS OR PHONES! we then sat down it took about half an hour to order our food while they were talking about how rude we were when we weren't even being rude ...... the food was AVERAGE and then the next table was completely out of control then they thought it was us and gave the kids stupid kiddy activity packs.when we were paying the bill which was extremely expensive we then saw this guy again being rude to us AGAIN!!! First time to Sopranos, great character restaurant, served as soon as we walked in with a smile. Hard to choose from the Menu given the variety, ended up with the specials which were very good. Good atmosphere, good service, very good food, mid priced, will make this a regular.
We went to Soprano's with another couple and had a great night. The service was excellent as was the food. Great range of veal dishes. Also some of the best garlic bread we have had for a while. It's the second time we have been to Soprano's and we were not disappointed.
We booked a big room. Room and staff were lovely. Shared appetisers were good. Veal scallopini was dry and tough (left most on the plate). Tiramisu was wet and I did not eat that either. Not sure I would rush back even though I work around the corner.
We loved this restaurant. It has a welcoming feel, friendly service and yummy pizza. I can recommend the La Donna pizza. My daughter has a dairy allergy and really enjoyed her no cheese Australiana pizza. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Visiting from Melbourne. Great dinner, great service, great prices. BYO wine was a bonus. Homemade pastas are my recommendations!
