Okay so obviously it's a take away joint so don't expect super fancy clean fresh healthy food, yiros/souvlaki is a dirty cheat meal luxury! (you can go for salad if you want) but I love that I can get a meat filled greasy pita (actually not super greasy), so yes, this place hits the spot if you're looking for this type of food. - having said that I did find a hair in my salad once - more reason to stick with the carb loaded option, and please before I forget, do yourself a favour and order the best chips you'll ever eat in your life!
Its in the West end of Jetty road Glenelg. They have a very small interior,somewhat claustrophobic dining area but its not much of an issue as there are alfresco tables, and you can take-away to the beachfront rocks or benches and enjoy the seascape. The Yiros lamb was charcoal roasted and freshly cut. There are are a variety of sauces and veg fillings with the lamb or chicken wrapped in pitta bread with a choice of sauces. You should tell them if you want low salt.
Wandering around Glenelg on a hot Adelaide afternoon, I ordered the spitfire lamb with a side of tzatziki. The meat was tasty but just way too much sauce unfortunately, which didn't add much heat but certainly affected the flavour. The tzatziki helped, but they really should look at adding heat to this dish with fresh chillies. I've been Souvlaki Bros before and they are capable of better. Also like the funky wall paintings.
The welcome was the last pleasant experience l had .Ordered 2 original giros lamb large chips and 2 cokes cost $45 which is fine if you get value for money. The meal was cold by the time we got back to the hotel which is across the road. Very little meat . Came here with my partner and the staff were busy talking to a couple infront of us for about 10 minutes before they decide to acknowledge us to order. Waited 20 mins for a yiros we were the only ones there and once we finished weren't even smiled at or said goodbye or looked at lol. So rude attitude was awful
So freaking tasty! We came here for a late night snack and the line proved its popularity. The meat is authentically cooked over charcoal creating a beautiful depth of flavour and the pita was delicious! Soft, fluffy and slightly grilled. Yum!!!
These used to be amazing!! The servings were half the size they used to be and the meat in my yiros was barely warm. The charcoal cooker wasn't going so I'm not sure how old the meat was and it had no flavour. I won't ever be going back!
I've always enjoyed my yiros at Souvlaki Bros, and the chips are to die for! Only downers: It can be a chaotic atmosphere inside the restaurant (I mostly eat my food outside) and it can be a bit on the expensive side. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Good fast food... Bety quickly... I don't know a lot about Greek food but I love this one. If you want fast food I recommend this local. I try Outback and is taste so good!
