Sovereign is an American restaurant that shows potential but ultimately offered a somewhat uneven experience during my recent visit. We started with the Brussel and Flow and Smashed Fingerlings appetizers. While the fingerlings were enjoyable, the Brussels sprouts were over-fried to the point of being almost burned, which was disappointing. For entrees, my friend ordered the Martha Luis Chicken. You needed to eat here like, yesterday. The food is always good. The food? Bomb. The drinks? Tasty. The atmosphere? Makes my little alt heart sing with how classy and dark it is. No but seriously, I’ve loved EVERY dish I’ve tried here. The Brussels sprout appetizers, the fry bread, chips and dip are all SO good to have before your meal. For a small plate, I ALWAYS get the risotto. They change it every couple of weeks and it is WORTH IT. Amazing food and great beer selection. It can be a bit tough to find a lighter drinking beer sometimes depending on their rotation, but you truly can’t find the drink selection and quality of food anywhere near here. Edit: We have been going to Sovereign for many years now and it’s only gotten better. The cocktails are amazing (thanks to the bar crew for always being great), and the food is always great mix of “best hits” as well as seasonal items and new things to try. We couldn’t be happier to have them so nearby to our home, but we would still gladly drive out of our way to go if we didn’t live so close. And oddly enough our toddler LOVES it here. 1st time here with a toddler, and it was great. He had the tenders with fruit. Drinks were delicious, and the food couldn't be beat.
