My boyfriend and I came here for Valentine’s Day. Normally when we go out we get sub par service because we look really young. Lisa was our waitress. She was absolutely fabulous and very attentive. We were there for about 3 hours and at one point we needed a new tablecloth because ours was soaked from the ice in our seafood platter melting. It was promptly changed and reset for us. All in all we had an extremely fun time with a lot of laughs. Thank you Lisa for your superb service and keep up the excellent work. Thank you to everyone working that night who made our evening special from the moment we walked in until the time we left. We will most definitely be back!!
Celebrated our anniversary here and it was excellent! The scallops, the octopus, the shrimp and the calamari were cooked just perfectly. It's been awhile since I've experienced that. My honey's filet mignon was cooked perfectly too. We also tried the bone marrow and it was super yummy! Service was top notch, my martini was spot on and the ambiance is very inviting. Had such a great experience! They even added special touches to our plates in honor of our celebration. 5 Stars!
My second favorite restaurant in town, only because you'll pay a pretty penny to eat there. Everything except the prices (which are understandable) is top notch, from the food, the service, to the ambiance. If you have a large amount disposable cash to spend on an evening excursion (which I often don't), and love seafood as I do, this is THE place to go in Iowa. 5/5.
2nd time there for My 1 year engagement with my fiance. Service was great, server recommend the cheese platter with our wine, which we did not plan on getting. We were glad we got it. The different flavors from the platter were amazing. The food was also good, I got the filet mignon and lobster tail.
All around a great experience. Our server, Zachary, was the best the best I've ever had. He was very educated with the menu and helped guide us through our supper. If you're in Des Moines you have to go. Plus, Zachary let our son play the grand piano.
Although it's a little bit pricey, it's definitely worth every nickel. Portions are ample and never been disappointed with the quality of both food and service.
